Amanda Diva is well known here in New York as a pretty successful independent artist. Not only is she a rapper, but she’s a poet, a visual artist (you can view her artwork on her myspace), and a rapper. Not to forget, her great upbeat personality gets her real far. She’s also seen around the city hosting exclusive parties. Anyway, Miss Diva is not having the best week, according to her blog, she got into a car accident last weekend, and then last night her purse got stollen in New York! She says on her blog:

It’s  a friday night, it’s rainy here in NYC. I’m at home.. SUPPOSED  to be studying, instead i’ve been browsing the interent looking for new music. I’ve really been behind in my music, constantly listening to Estelle, Jay Z, Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys, and of course, my oldies (i.e Marvin Gaye, Teddy P., Leon Ware.). Mary returns to her hometown Yonkers, NY today for the launch of The Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, Inc. (FFAWN) at Roosevelt High School. I think its great shes giving back to her hometown.

Is he serious? R. Kelly tried today to postpone his trial in Chicago due to a recent “torrent of publicity” surrounding the case, which they feel could have a negative effect on the trial’s outcome. But a Chicago, Illinois judge dismissed Kelly’s attorneys’ request. Come on they postponed it 6 years and he wants to postpone it again. Get outta here.

Charles Hamilton is a new artist who was recently signed to Interscope Records. In this clip, he freestyles for about 8 minutes straight! He seems very unique, and I’m really digging his style. I look forward to seeing more from him in the near future.
