All of our male readers, you can close your eyes to this one.. lol ’cause most men I know like to deny that a woman goes through their monthly menstration. But anyway, for Coffee Hour today I want to discuss the Menstrual Moon Cup because one my friends brought it up to me earlier this week and we had a long discussion about this “new invention”.
I first heard about the moon cup last year when on of my good friends (a guy!) told me about it. He told me he had bought it for his wife and she was in love with it and promised to never use
tampons or pads again. I didn’t understand what he meant but it being a cup.. that you put in you, and then dump it out throughout the day, and it’s re-useable each month for 10 years. My first instinct was YUCK, that yells for an infection! After checking out the website, I was still convinced that tampons are #1 and I would never imagine switching to the moon cup.
Well after a year, my friend brought it up to me, telling me that her husband (how are all these males knowing about this?!) suggested she try it out. After reviewing the website, I found out that this moon cup has been used for years in Europe, and that we are actually behind.
So, I suggest our lady readers to check it out at http://www.mooncup.co.uk/index.html, tell me what you think. If any of you try it out, let me know how it is.
I’ll update you guys, ’cause after my friend uses it for about 6 months, and if she likes it, I just might try it out. lol. Check out what some women have to say about the moon cup:
“I recently ordered one of your mooncups. At this point I will say that I am not your typical consumer and rarely take notice of adverts. I’m ashamed to say that I can’t even remember where I saw your name but, with tongue in cheek, the idea of a mooncup appealed to my greener side. However, as I am 49 and approaching the change with heavy periods, a not too wonderful pelvic floor and a vagina that hates foreign bodies in it I have to say I was very. very, sceptical.
“I am impressed. I am fascinated. How come I have never heard of one of these before? Why aren’t they on the usual supermarket shelves alongside tampons etc. This is my first time of using it and like I say I have very heavy periods and am amazed that this doesn’t leak. It doesn’t smell. It feels comfortable once I have cut the stem to the right length. It’s so easy to use and store. Even my vagina seems to accept it. No more packing my supermarket trolley out with packets of tampax and sanitary towels. I shall treat myself with the money I will be saving! We have recently had cause to have Dyna-Rod out because our sewerage overflowed. My husband was convinced it was me putting sanitary towels down there!!
It could have been. £17.99 is far cheaper than the £100 charge for overflowing drains!!I will now spread the word. All my friends are going to know about this and I sincerely hope they give it a try. ”

That is so fucking nasty. So you mean to tell me that you can use this in a public restroom without getting ANY blood anywhere? Impossible. Furthermore, the Britich need to invent something to keep their teeth from getting creepy as oppposed to what I’m sure is intitally uncomfortable reinvention of the wheel.
lmao!
lol, what does “moon” have to do with anything? Doesn’t look like a moon…sounds like they’re trying to make it sound less nasty.
