A promising 24 year old young Brooklyn car sales man was murdered at what he thought would be a casual hook up. Daniel Brandt thought he was going to meet up with a girl from craiglist, but ended up getting robbed and shot in the head by two men. Here is how the NY Post is reporting it:
Brooklyn man who was lured to an apartment building thinking he was meeting a woman for a date was shot to death yesterday by two men who robbed him, police sources said
Daniel Brandt, 24, went to a fourth floor apartment at West 33rd Street near Neptune Avenue in Coney Island, expecting to rendezvous with a woman he met on Craigslist.
Instead he was jumped and shot in the head.
The two men ran off and Brandt was rushed to Coney Island Hospital, where he died.
Police believe they know who sent the phony e-mails to Brandt and were waiting to get a warrant to search the suspect’s computer, sources said.
This is a sad story because this young man thought he was going to meet up with a girl and ends up losing his life. Can we blame craigslist for this? Look at how many people that have been in the news about myspace hook ups. Remember the young lady who ended her own life off of a fake boy from myspace that her friends made up. Craigslist is full of scammers and so is Myspace. Do i think Craigslist to blame. Well hell Yes y well not to long ago i was searching for a 9- 5 on craigslist. Got a couple of response back after posting my resume up. I was involved in one of Craigs list work scams and that almost cost me my freedom. Police came looking for me saying I’m involve in Scamming people. Fund and all that. Well i was lucky i keep everything together and proved that i had nutting to do with it. I complaint to Craigslist stating that there’s many scamming going on and they should investigate these thing. But i never received a reply.

That’s crazy. I’ve found Craigslist to be very helpful in the past, but since anyone can post on there, you should be careful.

WHOA CRAIGSLIST DUDE SHOULD HAVE NEVA WENT INSIDE THAT APARTMENT TAKE THAT HOE TO THE HOTEL. HE PROBABLY TOLD HER HE GOT MONEY AND ALL KIND OF NONSENSE. HE SHOULD HAVE CARRIED A WEAPON WITH HIM. HE SHOULD HAVE MET HER IN FRONT OF THE POLICE STATION UNDA THE F TRAIN. OR NATHANS. CONEY ISLAND IS INFESTED WITH POLICE EVERYWHERE. ITS NOT THAT BAD THERE ANYMORE.
