We hit up the G.O.O.D. Music concert at the Knitting Factory on Tuesday and had a ball! There were performances by 88 Keys, Termanology, Mickey Factz, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, and Consequence, with surprise appearances by the Kanye West and Q-Tip! In addition to the CRAZY concert, we’re happy to say that it looks as though Kanye may be back with his fabulous ex-fiance, Alexis Pfifer. Check out our exclusive re-cap and pics after the jump!
I got this event flyer from my boy, Franz and Martine and I decided to hit it up. I really didn’t think much of it, but definitely wanted to check out new artist Kid Cudi after seeing the buzz surrounding his mixtape, and especially after coming across this video. I’m not gonna lie, I was also hoping that Kanye would show up since his artists were performing and he was seen the day before at Fashion Week events.
The show opened up with a performance by 88 Keys. GLC cancelled, and to my disappointment, Wale was no where to be found either. I was kind of tight about that, because everyone kept saying that he was supposed to show, and I was really looking forward to seeing him live. Big Sean, Kanye’s new artist (pictured above) performed next. He was cool, and I look forward to seeing more of him in the future.
Jen the Pen came out and shot the breeze with the crowd for a while. She’s a radio host for Sirius Satellite Radio, etc. but I mostly know of her from her blog. Check it out, its pretty random and hilarious.
Mickey Factz came out next and put on a good, yet “interesting” show. Don’t get me wrong, I dig him, but he was a little “different” that night. He came out in a space suit, was crawling around on the floor and the whole nine. He’s definitely an emerging artist who is killing it right now, and creating quite a name for himself, especially on the internet.
Next up, finally, was Kid Cudi, who was announced as the newest member of the G.O.O.D. Music family. I assumed he was going to be the highlight of the night, mainly because the male groupies behind me kept shouting his name and asking where he was when Mickey Factz was performing. You would have thought he had dropped 3 albums already, the way that people were screaming the lyrics to every one of his songs, and anticipating what he was going to do next. I had never seen this dude live, but he definitely gained a new fan in me that night.
I now have to find out everything I can about this kid.
Of course I spent a lot of my time scanning the room for the “surprise guests” mentioned on the flyer, and low and behold, look who I spotted in the balcony while Cudi was performing…
Well, well, well, none other than Mr. West and his stylish ex-fiance, Alexis Pfifer. I KNEW IT! I tried to sneak a couple of pics before people started noticing him, but that didn’t last long. Of course, people started to point him out, and the next thing I know, he disappeared into the shadows. But wait…
I spotted music video director, Rik Cordero on the stage, so I assumed something major was about to happen. He’s not just going to come out for some BS. I got excited and was anticipating what was yet to come.
Consequence came on next and performed…
And you know he had to catch everything on tape for his blog. This dude pictured here was real serious with Cons’ Kyte phone/camera, not missing a beat! And finally…
Kanye jumps out and they performed together! You can check out his entrance HERE. Kanye then proceeds to perform “Can’t Tell Me Nothin“, “Flashing Lights“, “Love Knockdown“, “Swagger Like Us“. Lol at dude looking like he came straight from the Fashion Week tents.
See below for video of Kanye’s performance:
Spotted @ Nahright
I appreciate the fact that the event didn’t publicize that Kanye was going to be there. He came to this small, intimate venue strictly for the fans of G.O.O.D. music, and that made the show even better.
Wait, is that actor, Michael Rappaport on stage? WTF? Randommmmm! Moving on…
Lastly, Q-Tip made an appearance. At this point, I could not have been more excited. This definitely made my night. He did a couple of T.R.I.B.E. tracks as well. Sidebar, if you haven’t been to Santos Party House when he’s spinning, you’re missing out on a helluva night!
Ahhh, after the show was over, we spotted the lovely couple (I think/hope) leaving the venue together and jumping into their SUV. Good times!
And to think, I almost didn’t go to this show.

WOW I am glad that you guys caught this show and I am jealous. Mickey Factz and Kid Cudi are the truth. Def one of my favorite upcoming artists in Hip Hop along with Wale and Charles Hamilton. And cosign that it was a blower Wale wasnt there because he is crazy live. Nice that Q Tip and Ye showed up.
Aura you got some nice pics. I can just picture you now on your tippy toes trying to catch you a flick. LOL
It’s fun to do bad things. I love coming here.
Damn lucky…You got some great pics…I need to go to NYC one day.
CLASSIC!
I had hear Wale was there but just in the cut…this show looks like it was good times…I hope Kanye gets back with his fiance, she seems like she accepted him for who he is and supported him when his mom passed…its hard to find people like that even when you aren’t a celebrity…
LMAO at Michael Rappaport, he is always in some random hip-hop video…
Big Homie, you know I was fighting the male groupies to get to the front. Do you know that some nerd actually tried to run me over to touch Kanye’s hand??? WTF
I had the time of my life that night.
Aura: That is so sad. Male groupies should go kill themselves, especially for another man. I would of ran over someone just to touch your hand.
Tini: Obviously, you haven’t had a night with Big Homie
very famous ah! thats nice for you! good luck!
Looks like it was a lot of fun, wish i’ed been there.
mush make my way down to NYC some time.
Love the pic’s
