Although a very famous restaurant, I never heard of Sofrito until this past Friday (which is a surprise since this is one of New York City’s hot spots). Being spontaneous, a friend of mine decided that he wanted to go to Sofrito–and I’m so happy we went! The atmosphere of this place is crazy, I love it, and the location is perfect, right in the heart of midtown. They have great service, fabulous drinks, and food to die for. I am so disappointed that I didn’t have my camera with me, because the plate that my friend ordered was ridiculously huge (and TASTEY!)
I got a simple dish–a medium well done steak with mashed potatoes which was so good. My friend got the pork chops, and these weren’t your typical pork chops! (According to the owner, they sale over 150 plates of this dish a DAY). They came out on the bone and were absolutely finger-lickin’ good. I was eating more off of my friend’s plate than my own (well that’s after I finished my plate, I was happy he couldn’t finish his–HOW GREEDY AM I?). Prices of the entrees range from $13.00 to $23.00 which is not bad at all–especially for the huge portion of food you get! (I recommend skipping an appetizer or you’ll be entirely too full to finish your main dish).
Definitely a place you should visit!
