The premiere for Cadillac Records went down last night here in NYC, and lots of A-listers were in attendance. The star of the lady of the night, Beyonce Knowles, came out in full effect, and showed off her CRAZY 18 karat diamond ring. Wow!

Looks like it was a nice event. I wish someone who send out an alert every time Beyonce comes into town, so we can be prepared! We can’t wait to see the movie.

My intent is not to hate…
BUT, I feel like another talented actress/singer (maybe up-and-coming) who looks remotely like Etta James could have made a little money off of that role, rather than the one who’s already in it.
Taraji P. Henson wanted to do it. She resembles Etta enough, Ah well its’ not a crucial part to the movie so I still look forward to seeing it.
I’m interested in seeing this Beyonce performance that everyone is raving about. I love her as an artist, but I’m still not convinced of her acting abilities. Beyonce brings people to the theatres, at the end of the day, so I’m guessing that’s what the big studios had in mind.

Beyonce executive produced this movie, so basically there was no way anyone else was going to get the part. I’m skeptical about the rave reviews, because people were saying the same exact thing about Dreamgirls. Etta James is/was off the chain, so I’m interested to see if she pulls it off. I wish she had lipsynced the songs though, or came much more like Etta in the singing. But the clips I’ve seen look much improved from past roles she did.
