Events: Giant Magazine Presents Grace Sun

Over the weekend, I got the chance to attend the birthday celebration/design showing of Grace Sun. The event was sponsored by Giant Magazine. The event was very chill and laid back, it took place @ L Gallery Studio in Soho. I was amazed by the venue, it was so swanky and cute.Grace Sun is an up and coming women’s fashion designer. She must have a big buzz behind her, since Giant Magazine was the one throwing her the party. During the event some of Grace’s designed were showcased. I was not of huge fan of her work, but I can see a lot of people wearing it. They just didn’t spark my interest. But I will say some of her pieces were really cute. It was just either love or hate with me, no in between.

The event was OPEN BAR, so you know that always gets people in the mood to party. And for some reason the glasses they were using for drinks were HUGE! During the event I got to meet and connect with some of the top people at Giant. Fashion Editor Aixa Weekes and Editor In Chief Emil Wilbekin were some of the coolest people I met at the party. Giant Magazine most recent cover has The Rock on it, he looks kind of old on the cover in my opinion. They was given out that issue like crazy during the party. I just wish Giant publicized there magazine more. I only hear about their covers when the artist is Beyonce or Rihanna.

Overall it was a pretty good event, it was extremely exclusive. The more exclusive the better in my book. Our Fab Man Chavis Aaron was also in the building. The funniest thing about this party, was this crazy drunk lady dancing with her shadow. She was just the talk of the party. Everyone was trying to avoid her all night and I am still wondering how she got in. I would suggest you all check out L Gallery Studios, the place is crazy dope. i love GIANT it’s my favorite mag, but why is the rock on the cover….they couldn’t have found nobody else!? lol
