Get ready for this comedy film set to come out in early March.  From writer/producer Cris Cartier of (Caramel and Wine Up) and director Melvin James comes  Still A Teen. Still A Teen is a coming-of-age comedy about four guys and their

pre-occupation with music video models. Driven by testosterone, four friends attempt to make their fantasy of being around video vixens come true–through kidnapping a famous rapper, breaking into a mansion, and filming their own video.

Fortunately ATF was able to sit down with three actors from the film: Rosa Acosta, Tyler Ham Pong, and Shaun B’laurent:

Thanks for taking time out of your schedule to speak with Allthatsfab.com about the upcoming movie “Still A Teen”. Tell us what this movie is about?:

Tyler- Going into it the original description of the movie, I was told it was like “Scary Movie” meets “American Pie”. But Still a Teen is about 4 guys trying to meet girls, and they create a bond between each other and it’s not entirely based on searching for girls, but it’s comradely between these 4 guys.

Rosa Acosta-It’s a comedy about a group of guys that are trying to get laid for the weekend, and they create a music video with all of these attractive girls.

ATF: What’s your role in the movie?

Tyler- I play Josh, one of the four guys. I’m one of the bold guys, I even get arrested at one point. We all have points of maturity but I think what brings us together is our lack of maturity.

Rosa Acosta- I am Cameela’s best friend. And she’s the sister of one of the guys.

Shaun B’Laurent- I played the character Donnie Cashflow. He is the rapper in the film who gets kidnapped in this movie. The role was pretty different for me. I saw this role as a challenge. He wore all the big clothes, the crazy jewelry. Donnie Cashflow is an exaggerated rapper. Once I read the script I got every excited to play this guy. I knew I would have to come out of skin to pull this role off.

ATF: Have you ever acted before, or been in a comedy film before?

Tyler-I’ve been acting for a while. I did a year at University of Canada but then I came to New York and I’m finishing my studies here. I’ve been in a few student films , short films, some theatre.

Rosa Acosta- I have done some work in my country. This was my first comedy but I loved it and it was very natural for me.

ATF: How was the casting for Still a Teen? Tell us a bit of your experience the day of casting.

Rosa Acosta- I casted back in august. I have a huge accent. I’m Dominican and my accent is very deep, so I was surprised when they called me back. When they called me and told me I got the part, I was very very happy.

Tyler- When I went to the audition I saw a friend of mine there who was also auditioning. I almost didn’t make it to the audition because I had an allergic reaction! So before the audition I had to induce myself with adrenaline and this was right before the audition so I was kind of nervous and shakey from that whole experience. But I went to the audition and I was like “oh my god.” I went in, read it, and I got the part, and did the film!

ATF: What was the best part of working with the cast & film? What are you always going to remember about this experience of working with the cast and director Melvin James?

Shaun B’ Laurent- It was a every good and fun experience. It was also pretty exciting. The energy on the set was crazy. Everyone was just cool to work with. Jason Hurt who is a great actor. Tyler who played Josh was also fun to work with. I also loved working with all the girls in the film. First coming on set was the most memorable moment, loved everyone that was on set. I came to that house and I just felt everyone’s energy and I loved it. It was just cool working with everyone there. It was a lot of fun working with Melvin. He is a very open minded director, and that is always good for us actors.

Tyler: The three other guys that I worked with. A lot of times there were models walking around. We have a few scenes where we have the video vixen models just walking around because we are shooting  a music video. So that was definitely a high point to see all of these girls. But working with these three guys was most memorable. We all got to know eachother more.

Rosa Acosta- Meeting everybody and working with the cast. I had a blast.

I heard a lot of shit about this film from friends. Some of the 4 guys complained, and rightfully so, that this was some of the skechiest projects they have evr worked on, they were practiaclly absued as actors, not being fed norally, not eting transportation, staying on set fo 15-17 hours and onl having the chance to get One ride a day, also baically prostotes on set, the “producers” sexually harassing th models, the one girl playing a tranny complaied that the two “head silent producers” asked her to stay after for cash. Melvin and his team will get into some serous problems if they dont take this project down from their resume. It doenst look good for them, plus no ones contracts were fulfilled apparently.

Th e movie sound like it is going to weak ass fuck. Who wants to see some video hoes bouncing aroung? get real actress or leaset someone that has not done mad videos. An if that stuff happen on set from the sound of this movie i can believe it, this sound bootleg like a mutha

  5. tyrone johnson on Wednesday 11, 2009

I feel bad for the real actors in this movie, seems like they just got a bunch of not so hot slutty girls who couldn’t act and put them in one room with these poor guys and said lets make a movie. Movies like this don’t get released.

  6. masterofthewhatnot on Wednesday 11, 2009

Hmmm seems like a messy situation. karma is all i can say. it’s to bad how they portray women in this movie

  7. marky mark on Wednesday 11, 2009

  8. A.J Williams on Wednesday 11, 2009

Melvin James is a scam. There seems like there are some good acors in this who were given false ideas about this film. They are all a bunch of thugs.

  9. chereta on Wednesday 11, 2009

  10. susan on Wednesday 11, 2009

  11. Arissa Seligman on Wednesday 11, 2009

All of these comments are baseless! In my opinion, people should know that these negative comments are being posted mainly by Dan and Rich who did nothing but cause problems for this film from day one. I was one of the models on this film and any of the problems that existed had nothing to do with Melvin James, the film’s director. There were problems that existed between two of the actors (whom everybody knows were a problem) and Henry Ike who was the shady executive producer. Cowards are using fake names to post comments on this project and using their frinds to post negative comments. Stop being a bitch and say who you really are Dan and Rich and stop getting your friends to post bullshit! Take your issues up with Henry and stop trying to slander other people’s names. You’re right.. Karma is a bitch and don’t be surprised when it catches up with you soon!!

  12. Arissa Seligman on Wednesday 11, 2009

And I’ll be sure to forward your comments to Melvin.. Get a life you fucking cowards! And direct your grievances to the person who is responsible!

  13. BarbaraColes on Wednesday 11, 2009

Definitely sounds like Dan writing these negative comments. Who else would complain about being around beautiful models all day. Especially when he knew what the movie was about. He was obviously very gay (no offense to anyone) but this dude was flaming homosexual and everyone knew it. The producers told me that he constantly bitched about there being so many beautiful models on set. Duhh the movie is about four guys trying to meet MUSIC VIDEO MODELS so real video models were used. Makes sense unless you’re gay and had a crush on one of the other male actors (oops).

  14. trina on Wednesday 11, 2009

from the looks of it this movie is very bootleg and beautiful models?? i seen a lot of weave makeup fake boobs from the myspace page so please there were no natural beauties in that group. there were no halle berys christina milian ameries lauren london’s do i still have to go on. an no i dont know whoever those two clowns are you keep saying is posting bad shit about the movie, sorry but it is what it is .FACTS

  15. BarbaraColes on Wednesday 11, 2009

And Trina honey you’re obviously one of these fugly hatin ass bitches who has dreams of being in a video or a movie but isn’t hot enough. What you tried out for the movie and didn’t make it?? Fall back boo. Maybe next time. Then again you probably are the kind that needs to fuck a producer to get the same shot that real models do. Hater!

  16. SHARRI of www.sharrijones.com on Wednesday 11, 2009

OMG was I suprised to hear everyones comments. I have to say that Melvin james is an excellent director and is very professional and so is his main team. Now as far as the issues on set it arose from some of the difficult actresses, actors, and of course the financer (I wont use any names). And then there were non professional people on set who decided to invite there friends to hang out, these are poeple that Melvin did not know these were friends of models, actors and the financer so, please no finger pointing as more than 1 person contributed to the unfortunate environment, I was not fond of all the testerone on set but, it was a result of all of the above.. Melvin is a director not a baby sitter his job was to direct which I think he did a good job at but, he is not responsible for the other 20 jobs expected of him. I don’t feel it is professional to slander someones name, nor is it legal. (I am a law student-fyi) so please don’t listen to any of this hate. Let me explain that I take my career as an actress seriously as well as a few other poeple on set.. we were hired as ACTRESSES now as far as the models the point was to hire VIDEO MODELS (Gina Lynn was also hired-fyi) just like in movies where they want a playboy bunny, guess what they hire REAL PLAYBOY BUNNIES its the same things, it adds to the realism of the story line. So what if they have fake boobs and so forth get over it. And for the record not everyone does, I don’t but does that really mater. Really? Of course there was no Halle Berry or Lauren London HELLO HAVE U HEARD OF SMALL PRODUCTIONS< INDEPENDANT FILMS this is what gives FILM FESTIVALS it’s base. If there was not a starting point for films how could there ever be a finish line. Think about it. Go ahead think long and hard………. Please do not slander or defame this film because we all as entertainers put time into this production regardless of the outcome. I put it like this if you did not know what the film was about you would not have excepted the job and if you did not like what happened on set then you did not have to stay. right?

  17. cookie on Wednesday 11, 2009

I think the trina chick means no halle berrys or lauren london list goes on because of looks not talent, none of those girls looked like a natural pretty ladies, they look like made up video chicks, did i clear that up for you? that what it looks like to me not hating on the project just telling the truth. Further more I hope the project does well

  18. Maurice on Wednesday 11, 2009

im a fan of the women in this video. and from reading other comments the plot of the movie is about the women. so its a guys flick. some people need to realize that. is their a release date?
