Earlier this week, I had the chance to catch a exclusive invite-only performance of the play “The High Priestess of Dark Alley“. I bet you all are thinking what the hell is that, but the title has a explainable meaning, once you see the show. The performance went down at the historical Billie Holiday Theatre in Brooklyn. The play was amazing in my opinion, I am such a fan of theatre. It was good to see something that wasn’t the typical Broadway musical or Tyler Perry hilarious mess…

The play was made up of mostly unknown actors, but that didn’t take away from their talent. The cast told a compelling story which discussed cheating men, HIV, dark-skin blacks .vs. light skin blacks, and life after Hurricane Katrina. There was so many stories in this one play, their were surprises during each scene. They also captured the trouble woman have with moving on with their lives after divorce or break-ups. This play had my full attention, I was actually upset when intermission came lol. It just felt like I was watching a live movie, now I know why this play was sold out 6-weeks in a row.

Overall the play was great, it really opened my eyes to some world issues. That I don’t usually get faced with during my everyday life.You can check out more information about the play here
