Judging by Twitter & Facebook statuses along with the abundance of text messages we were receiving, it appears everyone tuned into the MTV Video Music Awards last night. The show was dedicated to Michael Jackson and opened with a dance tribute to MJ’s hits and a performance by Janet Jackson that was breath taking!
Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, and Beyonce had the most memorable performances of the night. Continue reading for photos and videos.
Our favorite part was when they made it appear like Janet was performing next to her brother on the big screen.
We knew Lady Gaga was going to come out with a bang and do an extraordinary performance. But the blood and the hanging, was a little too disturbing.
But of course Beyonce took over the stage! We were looking forward to her performing “Sweet Dreams” (already kind of sick of the Single Ladies performances) but she killed it by adding a little more spunk and bringing 20+ women on the stage!
The VMA’s were very entertaining and we applaud them for the great MJ Tribute! It was MUCH better than BET’s, that’s for sure.

Kudo’s to whoever did Janet’s choreography. The routine was cool, but I’m really tired of Janet lip-synching. Have you noticed she is really starting to look more and more like papa Joe in a lace-front weave. I’m glad she did a tribute but I like Latoya’s song Home tribute better. Latoya’s vocals are much better and she is the only one with any personality in the family and she was the first there at the hospital, signed the death certificate, and planned the memorial, and has since promoted Michael’s charities. Janet went right back to work on Tyler Perry’s movie and back in the studio to record yet another sex song with a dated beat just in time to make money off of her brother’s death. Sad, Sad, Sad.
Is Beyonce the female Michael Jackson with the glove thing going on?
Jay-Z and Alicia Keys were wonderful and even to ignore lil mama, they didn’t have to say a word when Jay-Z did’t acknowledge her that was a blow by itself. Great show this year VMA!
