Fab couple, Will and Jada Smith, along with Jay-Z, joined the production team of a new Broadway Musical Fela! The musical is about the life of Nigerian musician Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, which is known for his musical style afrobeat.
Essence.com says:
Created by the Tony Award-winning choreographer Bill T. Jones, ‘Fela!’ chronicles the life of Afrobeat superstar Fela Anikulapo Kuti whose classic recordings include ‘Live!’ and ‘Confusion’. Jay-Z and the Smiths’ artistic involvement in the production will like be minimal since the show is already in previews and received critical acclaim for its Off-Broadway run.
If Jay-Z, Jada, and Will (surprised Oprah isn’t involved!) are backing up this play, this is something you shouldn’t miss. FELA! Is a wonderful broadway production! I recommend everyone to go see it. Its a wonderful musical treat.
