The mixtape world is a male dominated world, like the rest of the industry. There are a few new women trying to break that trend. Dondria, Krys Ivory, and Lola Monroe are all holding it down for the ladies.
Dondria is the YouTube singer that got signed to So So Def, we have her mixtape on repeat. Dondria went the typical mixtape route and remixed some bangers. She gets on some of the hottest tracks from Robin Thicke, Musiq Soulchild, Drake, etc. Dondria holds her own on every track, Jermaine Durpri should be proud. Her remake of Maxwell’s “Pretty Wings” is so dope.

Krys Ivory is the songstress signed to Ryan Leslie’s Next Selection imprint. We sat down with her a little while ago and got all in her business, she is truly one of our favorite fab female. The message behind the mixtape is survival and reflecting on life. Krys is a cancer survivor and she is so inspiring. The mixtape is hosted by radio host, Charlamagne Tha God.

Now we know you have heard of Lola Monroe aka Angela Lola Luv. Well, this former video vixen is serious about breaking into the rap game. She plans to not let Nicki Minaj take all the shine, they are reportedly still beefing. Lola teamed up with southern rapper Lil Boosie on her first mixtape called The Untouchables. We wish she would have chose someone better than Lil Boosie, he is so tired. Its really hard to take her seriously as a rapper.
