Days Before Royal Wedding, The Queen Is Furious At Meghan Markle's Father

According to reports, Queen Elizabeth II is not happy with Meghan Markle's father. Apparently, Prince Harry's future father-in-law has been selling staged photos of himself to the paparazzi. The palace is now scrambling to figure out how to deal with him.

Thomas Markle reportedly collaborated with a British paparazzi in order to make a bundle by staging photos of himself. Mr. Markle acted as though the photos were candid shots, but they were actually staged with an L.A.-based photographer, Jeff Rayner.

In some photos, the 73-year-old father is reading news reports about his daughter's upcoming wedding to the prince in a cafe. In other photos, he's brushing up on his British trivia by reading a book about landmarks, or about the royals. In one photo, he's apparently being fitted for a suit for the wedding, during which he was scheduled to give away the bride.

The manager of a cafe where some of the photos were snapped says the photographer and father of the bride came in together, took the pictures, and were quickly on their way.

“They didn’t stay long, probably about 10 minutes,’’ said the manager to the Daily Mail. “And they left together.”

Just days before the May 19 wedding, photos having anything to do with Meghan and her family are in high demand. The royal family does not generally like to make a spectacle of themselves for publicity's sake, so Mr. Markle's stunts are making Her Majesty very angry. Considering it was the paparazzi that caused the tragic accident that killed Harry's mother, Princess Diana, this was just a bad idea.

“Lord Chamberlain, Her Majesty and the Duke are very angry with Meghan’s father,” said an inside source to Page Six. “They will speak to him once he arrives about the royal protocol.”

The mess was an embarrassment not only to the royals, but to Markle and her family. Now, in the wake of the stunt, Thomas has pulled out of the wedding on Monday and will not be walking his daughter down the aisle.

“This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding,” said a spokesperson for Kensington Palace. “She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this difficult situation.”

According to the Daily Mail, a friend of Meghan told them, “This is not what she wants. She obviously wants her dad there... She and Prince Harry are begging for people to give him some space. They have been saying this for weeks, while trying to offer him support and help. He is clearly feeling under immense pressure. The concern for him is real and genuine.”

On Tuesday, the father changed his mind yet again. He told TMZ that he called Meghan and asked if he could still come to London to walk her down the aisle. Unfortunately, there is a new problem. The stress of the whole debacle has caused him 'serious chest pains' and he is not sure he will be given the okay to travel by his doctors.

Thomas says his daughter isn’t mad at him for the publicity stunt and that she has sent him some supportive messages. Now it remains to be seen if Mr. Markle makes the wedding, and if he can make peace with the Queen.
