Details About Upcoming Royal Wedding Keep Leaking- Including Couple's Song for the First Dance

As the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle draws near, it seems fans of the couple just can't get enough details. So far, a number of those details have been leaked, from the flavor of the cake to A-list guests.

Now, a report has revealed the song the couple chose for their first dance. It is nothing anyone would have expected.

According to The Sun, Harry and Meghan will be sharing their first dance together to the 1980's tune, 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody'. The 1987 hit was sung by Whitney Houston, and is apparently a favorite of the bride. In a 2016 interview on YouTube, she shared that loves it.

“When I’m happy I listen to Whitney Houston ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’. Such a good song!” she revealed, so it is no wonder she put it on the playlist for the wedding.

Harry and Meghan have definitely been doing things their own way for this wedding. The couple have been breaking with a lot of traditions. Just the fact that Meghan is divorced, and that the two are spending so much time together at the palace is unusual, but Harry and Meghan are determined to do things their own way down to even small details.

The couple is having a hand in more details than most royal couples in the past have had.

Harry and Meghan having their wedding in May, despite the fact that Queen Victoria banned May weddings back in the 1800s because she felt they were bad luck. They won’t be inviting heads of state to the wedding—it’s being held on a weekend, and won’t be made a public holiday.

The guest list is smaller than usual for a prince, and gets even smaller for the exclusive party after the reception.

Instead of the traditional fruitcake, they'll be serving a lemon elderflower cake with buttercream frosting, decorated with flowers. Sir Elton John, who was a good friend of Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana, will be performing at the wedding. Also in attendance will be celebrities like the Spice Girls and Coldplay.

Meghan won’t have a maid of honor—she didn’t want to choose just one woman from her close group of gal pals, who have been a big help lending her a hand with planning. It’s also noted that Meghan’s father will walk her down the aisle, and her mother also reportedly will play a role in the ceremony.

The first dance song is usually a slow ballad, but The Sun reports that the couple wanted to entertain their guests with something 'fun and bouncy'. With the popular Houston song, they certainly will have accomplished that.

The best thing about Harry and Meghan doing it their own way is that everyone has totally accepted them. The Queen has given the couple her blessings every step of the way, and the entire royal family are just thrilled that Harry has found such a wonderful partner for life.

Harry always struggled with depression and anxiety after his mother’s tragic death, and only in recent years has he revealed that he’s finally come to terms with his loss and worked through his grief. Now he’s found the love of his life and is looking happier than ever.
