Did Melania and Ivanka Trump Coordinate Their Outfits on Wednesday?

Melania Trump and her stepdaughter, Ivanka, wore a twinning combination on Wednesday when President Donald Trump signed an executive order. Both women wore dark dresses belted at the waist with thick straps. Was it a coincidence? Or are the two fashionistas in the White House starting to coordinate their outfits?

President Trump ushered in an executive order on Wednesday to boost the federal government's hiring of military spouses. During the event, Trump also squeezed in a Mother's Day celebration for mothers in the military. What many couldn't help noticing was how the women flanking him looked so similar.

On Mr. Trump's right was his wife, Melania, wore a belted blazer. On Trump's right, his daughter, Ivanka, wore a short-sleeved Oscar de la Renta dress, accessorizing the black garment with a large black belt and matching heels.

Ivanka later tweeted about the event but didn't mention the Bobbsey twin look she and her stepmother were rocking. "Today President Trump signed an Executive Order to promote military spouse hiring across ALL federal departments and agencies. To our great #MilitarySpouses: Your courage often goes unnoticed, but that makes it all the more heroic. We are committed to supporting you and your families, as you and yours faithfully and selflessly serve us," she wrote.

According to rumors, Melania and Ivanka don’t get along like the best of friends. This may come as a bit of a surprise, considering how much they have in common. Remember, Melania and Ivanka are much closer in age than Melania and President Trump. She’s much younger than her husband, making her only 11 years older than Ivanka.

The two women are both former fashion models and seem to share expensive taste in clothing and accessories. In addition, they’re both mothers to young children. Despite all these similarities, however, the relationship between the two is reportedly complicated.

has reported that the First Lady tries to stay in the East Wing and avoids going into the West Wing where her husband works with his eldest daughter by his side.

Melania says she never looked at Trump's children from his previous marriages as her own children, and she doesn't try to mother them. In 2016, the FLOTUS told Harper's Bazaar, “They are grown-up, I don’t see myself as their mother.... I am their friend, and I’m here when they need me.”

However, Vanity Fair reports anonymous sources close to the family say they have 'observed a frostiness between' Ivanka and Melania.

Some have wondered if Ivanka shoehorning herself into her father's administration while Melania was absent from the white house might have something to do with tensions between the two ladies.

It doesn’t look like there is a war going on behind the scenes, though. The truth is, both Melania and Ivanka have spoken fondly of each other in the past. In Ivanka’s book, ‘Women Who Work', she thanked Melania for her 'support and friendship'.

She's also referred to Melania as a woman with a 'heart of gold'. Both women also have expressed similar sentiments about President Trump, such as wishing he would log off Twitter, stop the name calling and act more presidential.

Perhaps the core of the problem is just that step-family relationships, in general, are complicated-- even when you're not rich, famous or involved in politics.
