Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's whirlwind romance and engagement captured the attention of the nation. For months, all anyone could talk about was the big royal wedding. The May 19 event was as spectacular as we all imagined it would be, but you would think that would be the end of it.
Not by a longshot, though-- people around the world still can't seem to get enough of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
For the first time since she tied the knot with her young, handsome prince, Markle threw a juicy bone to fans who want to know how married life is treating them. And, as expected, it seems to be going well.
Sharon Briscoe, a 61-year-old fan of the royals, traveled all the way to Chester, England from Chirk, Wales to greet Meghan Markle and Queen Elizabeth II on their big outing together. The Queen and her new granddaughter-in-law were attending the dedication of a bridge and the opening of a new story theater.
Briscoe actually got the chance to talk a moment with Markle, and asked her how she liked being married.
"[Being married] is wonderful," Markle responded. "I’m really enjoying it."
Briscoe then told the new bride to give love to Harry and look after the prince. Markle responded, ""I will do. That means an awful lot to us... He’s the best husband ever."
This is the first time the tight-lipped new royal has said anything about married life, so, we'll take it. Harry has been quiet, too, but it looks like the Duke and Duchess have been settling into royal married life quite nicely.
One cute clip that made the rounds on social media this week showed Harry coaching Meghan at the Trooping of the Colors, a formal fly-by in honor of the Queen’s birthday.
“Then there’s the fly-past and then we all look up to the sky," lip-readers said Harry was explaining to Meghan quietly in the background.
Meghan reportedly whispered she was 'nervous'. She then asked Harry if it was the right time to curtsey. "Do it?" she asked.
"Yes... when you get into it, I’ll tell you more later.”
Meghan has really been getting into the swing of things with her new status. On her first ever outing with the queen, reports say she looked nervous but she was making a concerted effort to follow protocol.
Body language experts, on the other hand, revealed that the Queen and Meghan looked very comfortable and were enjoying each other’s company. The Queen, who usually sits rather blank-faced at such events, was leaning in and joking with Meghan. She had a huge smile on her face and the two were giggling.
"The Queen was the happiest I've seen her in a long time. They looked like naughty teenagers giggling together at one point," said expert Judi James, The Telegraph reports.
"She looked positively girlish. When she smiles you can see the young princess coming out. She's got a beautiful childlike smile and her little hands were formed into fists at one point. Perhaps Meghan did bring a little bit more of that out in her," James continued. "We saw displays which showed the pair genuinely having fun."
