Brilliant Life Hack for Keeping Feet Warm in The Winter

We all know that we need year-round activity to keep ourselves healthy and strong, but when winter comes, many of us are very reluctant to drag ourselves out from under the covers on a cold morning. It's easy to convince yourself you don't need to go for a jog, or a hike, or out to play some ball or frisbee when you know your tootsies are going to be freezing thanks to dropping temperatures and snow on the ground.

Good winter gear is important, but let's face it-- the best gear that really shuts out the cold can be pretty expensive. Thankfully, there's a quick, inexpensive way to add an extra layer of insulation to your winter shoes. Best of all, it won't be bulky and uncomfortable like when you double up on your socks or try stuffing toe warmers in your shoes.

All you need to do is stop by a dollar store and pick up one of those cheap car sun shades. It doesn't matter if it's one of those plain, silver foil ones; no one is even going to see it, so no need to splurge on the attractive shades.

Take your insole out of your winter boot or shoe very carefully so you don't damage it. Place it on top of the sun shield and trace around it with a marker or soft pencil. Do this for your left and right shoes.

After you've traced your insoles, cut the shapes out of your screen. Put your insoles back into your shoes, the fitted insulation screens that you just cut to size inside with them.

These insulators work like a charm. They provide an extra layer between the soles of your feet and the cold ground, but the foil also reflects your own body heat back at you rather than letting it escape through the bottom of your shoe.

Best of all, you should have enough shade screen left over to make insulation for all of your shoes.
