Man Builds Amazing Built-In Dinner Table Booth For His Dining Room

Sometimes you just gotta remodel your dining room. There are dozens of possible reasons to take this big step, whether it’s seems blah or your current arrangement is just getting old, but once in a while there comes a time when you’ve simply got to take the plunge and try something new.

In the case discussed below bin this article, an Imgur user with the handle MidnightXII walked into his dining room one afternoon and said he just felt empty. It seemed like there was something missing here. He felt that his current arrangement and setup was simply not what he wanted, so he made plans for big changes.

Take a look at his dining room before he began his remodeling project. The French doors are fabulous, but honestly, the dining table and chairs are basically boring. Clearly something more classy is needed to help the dining room live up to its potential.

So the first stage in the project was getting rid of the boring old table, and after he did so, the room looked great. The second and most important stage of the project was to design and create a dining table fitting of this attractive room.

The first step in his project was measuring the space available in the dining room. The next step was attaching a long wooden plank to the wall. Then, he nailed in a solid support at each wall stud. That was followed by adding other support studs all the way around the wall of the dining room.

Then finally, the creative man’s his design starts to come together. He’s creating a booth style dining table to liven up his dining room. He finishes up the table and benches of the dining booth, and then three 2-inch foam cushions are added on top to give a good measure of extra comfort to each seat.

In the next step in this dining room remodeling project, this expert fixer upper staples some colorful upholstery to each of the bench seats to protect it against stains and add a little bit of extra aesthetic appeal to the whole structure.

Also keep in mind that because the bench ended up covering the wall vent, the man had to drill a hole through the bench to let air pass through and maintain ventilation in the room.

Note that a glossy white, easy to clean wood border keeps the edges of the cushion in place. The decision to go for bright white instead of natural wood for the border also creates a neat visual contrast.

Last but not least, the clever furniture maker then put on a pair of strong table legs and added a solid wood tabletop. These final steps really bring the whole project together, and make the dining booth fully ready for dinner parties or simple family suppers.

Best of all, this entire dining room remodeling project was completed for less than $250.
