Animated TV Program 'The Simpsons' Has Predicted The Future with Great Accuracy

One of the biggest mysteries in the entertainment industry is how in the heck does the animated series "The Simpsons" manage to keep predicting the future so accurately?

The extremely long-running hit program on Fox has been quite accurate in its predictions of the future for many years, including Disney’s current offer to buy 21st Century Fox, which The Simpsons actually teased on an episode close to two decades ago.

This recently proven correct prediction aside, it should be noted that this is not the first time the multi-award-winning "The Simpsons" has been a very accurate Magic 8 Ball that offers glimpses of the future.

Check out these other examples of the hit show's spot-on predictions for the future:

President Donald Trump - It turns out "The Simpsons" actually predicted Donald Trump would become president of the US back in 2000. The program had an episode titled "Bart to the Future" that year where it was mentioned that Bart's sister Lisa had become the president after "President Trump," but it is not true that the episode mentioning Trump had an image of Trump on an escalator (how he launched his presidential campaign) or that the show correctly predicted the electoral map of his win.

Lady Gaga Playing the Super Bowl - The mega-talented singer Lady Gaga was a guest on "The Simpsons" back in 2012 and in that episode she played a concert for Springfield in which she soared through the air - just like she did in her halftime performance at the Super Bowl in February of 2017.

The Popularity of Smartwatches – Not that predicting a watch communication device is all that insightful, given that early and mid-20th-century futuristic comics Buck Rogers and Dick Tracy both wore devices similar to today’s smartwatches. Therefore, it’s not too surprising that "The Simpsons" showed a character using a mini-watch communication device all the way back in a 1995 episode.

White Tiger Attacking Siegfried and Roy – "The Simpsons" also correctly predicted that the famous Siegfried and Roy animal training act would suffer a tragic attack by one of the animals they use in their act. Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn are the world-famous Vegas performers who work with big cats, and they were parodied by the show all the way back in 1993.

In the hilarious episode, a white tiger attacks "Gunter and Ernst" in their act to get revenge for having been kidnapped and taken away from his idyllic life as king of the jungle.

In a case of real life imitating art, Roy Horn suffered a very serious injury in 2003 after a tiger attacked him during a show. Horn eventually ended up retiring from performing due to the severity of his injuries.

It should also be noted that "The Simpsons" has been highly accurate in predicting future trends in fashion and grooming, with Bart and Lisa, in particular, leading the way with avant-garde fashion statements.
