Cancer Survivor Gets Big Thrill When Jay-Z Calls Her Up On Stage At Concert

There is nothing to get your blood pumping like a great concert. A lot of people bring signs to concerts in hopes that it will catch the attention of their favorite artist.

Most of the time, they go unnoticed. But sometimes, if you're lucky, and if you write just the right thing on the sign, it could pay off.

Jay-Z is a big star, but he proved that the only thing bigger than his stardom is his heart.

The rapper was performing at his 4:44 concert on Saturday night in Oakland, California. He was wrapping up his 31-day tour celebrating the release of his new album.

In the middle of the show, Jay-Z saw a woman in the audience holding up a sign. Her sparkly sign’s message got his attention and he just couldn't pass up the opportunity to make her night.

The 48-year-old singer/songwriter was on stage when he spotted a glittering sign near the front row. The sign, which belonged to a woman named Christina Cruz, had a touching message and request.

"I beat cancer 2x 2 see u! I love u!!!" the sign read.

She also wrote, "Selfie or hug?"

When Jay-Z saw it in the middle of the show, he read it aloud. The Brooklyn-born rapper was so moved that he told the survivor, "I gotta give you at least a hug."

Fans went wild. Jay-Z then asked people to help Cruz to get through the audience and on to the stage.

"Could somebody help her around please? Help her around!"

The adoring fan got on stage and got a big, warm hug from the superstar. Fans screamed wildly and cheered for Cruz and her dream-come-true moment.

She may not have gotten a selfie, but that’s okay—she ended up with tons of photos, including one taken by ‘her man’.

When she was talking to Jay-Z on stage, what she said couldn’t be heard, but she pointed to someone in the audience. That’s when the singer put an arm around her and said, “Where’s your man?”

The two walked to the front of the stage and then posed so Cruz’s companion could take a picture of them. Then she got another hug before departing.

Cruz posted her images to social media and shared her feelings about the memorable event. "I can't believe he pulled me on stage and I got to hug him not once but twice!!!"

"Truly a dream come true!! Thank you, Jay-Z,!!!!"

Lots of other people in the audience were snapping away, and many later made their way on social media.

Someone shared an image of Cruz and Jay-Z later in Instagram, to which the young woman responded, "That’s me!!! Best night of my life!!!"

The kind gesture by Jay-Z seemed to be the highlight of the concert, and many fans approved.

The material in Jay-Z's new album has been painfully personal, the rapper has said in interviews. He wrote about his own infidelity to wife, Beyoncé, and how he's hurt his family.

The lyrics address his remorse over his behavior.

"Look, I apologize, often womanize," he raps on the track. "Took for my child to be born, see through a woman's eyes," he sings in one song.

Everyone makes mistakes, and Beyoncé and Jay-Z seemed to have worked out a lot of marital problems, with their art being a means of therapy. The couple seem to be back on the right track now.
