Congressional Candidate Possibly Ended His Political Career With This Racist Tweet Of Meghan Markle

A Republican running for Congress in Wisconsin posted a photo of Meghan Markle that has many people, including Markle's 'Suits' co-star, in an uproar.

The post included a picture of Markle and Prince Harry's engagement photo with the 'Cheddar Man' skeleton superimposed on the bride-to-be's face.

His Twitter account has been suspended, and actor Patrick J. Adams jumps to his former co-star's defense.

Paul Nehlen, a Republican, self-proclaimed 'Constitutional conservative' and staunch Donald Trump supporter, sent a racist tweet that has many people outraged. Nehlen, who was backed by Steve Bannon in the last election but lost to Paul Ryan is challenging the Speaker of the House in the upcoming midterms, but he may have just sealed his fate.

Nehlen, long considered by many to be part of the 'alt right' and a white supremacist, tweeted a photoshopped image of Meghan Markle. It featured the dark, leathery face of 'Cheddar Man', a fossil unearthed over a century ago in a cave in the U.K.

The DNA of the ancient remains showed that the early ancestor of the British had 'dark to black' skin and blue eyes. A reconstruction of the face was made with the skull to get an example of what the first settlers who came to Britain from continental Europe might have looked like.

The image of the Cheddar Man superimposed on Markle's face, along with the caption, "Honey, does this tie make my face look pale?" was seen by many as an outrageously racist attack on the future royal. Markle is biracial.

Adams, who played Markle's on-screen fiancé on 'Suits', quickly slammed Nehlen for the tweet. "You’re a sad and sick man with no sense of shame or class," he wrote.

“Get a life. And don’t go anywhere near MM – she’s got more power, strength, honor and compassion in her fingernail than you’ll ever know in this lifetime. Way above your weight class," he added.

Nehlen quickly responded to some of the backlash he got over the image by saying it was a joke. He then shot out at the Mirror.co.uk after an article came out harshly criticizing him.

"Publishing an article *disappearing whites* or *dispossessing whites* of their homelands is wrong; made worse when claiming "science" to "prove" whites never existed. I made a joke of it. It's not a laughing matter, so I chose to laugh about it," he said.

His defense wasn't taken well, either, but amidst the backlash his Twitter account was suspended. Twitter has confirmed that Nehlan was ‘permanently banned’ for repeat offenses.

Nehlan has been in trouble with Twitter multiple times, as he uses outrage to gain attention and raise funds for his campaigns. Just last month he caught flak for posting a list of his critics — most of whom, he notes, are Jewish — along with their phone numbers and email addresses.

It doesn't look like Paul Ryan will have anything to worry about in the 2018 elections. At least, he won’t have to worry about Nehlen.

Many Twitter users are already staging anti-Nehlan campaigns.

"This racist POS is running for Congress (I won’t RT the original image of Markle he tweeted earlier). But we need to send the message that “candidates” like this have no place in our government and we’d be happy if they live the rest of their lives under the darkest rock," said one Twitter user.
