George Clooney Launches Savage Attack On Bannon - Calls Him A Fu**ing...

If you’re throwing a dinner party anytime soon, it’s probably a good idea to make sure you don’t invite both George Clooney and Steve Bannon. The normally reserved actor is not a big fan of the former White House strategist, and he’s made that crystal clear on a number of occasions. As the Huffington Post shares, he reiterated that point during some recent interviews.

Clooney was speaking to journalists at the Toronto International Film Festival, and the topic of Bannon was brought up. He didn’t pull any punches, referring to Bannon as “a schmuck who literally tried everything he could to sell scripts in Hollywood.”

Clooney was apparently referring to a script, a rap musical update of Shakespeare’s “Coriolanus,” titled “The Thing I Am,” that Bannon was previously trying to peddle.

“It’s like a rap Shakespearean thing about the LA riots. It’s the worst script you’ve ever read,” Clooney added. “But he was trying to get it made in Hollywood. And had he, he would still be in Hollywood making movies and kissing my a** to make one of his films. That’s who he is.”

Well now. Clooney made the above comments while speaking to Vanity Fair, and he had even more to say when he was chatting with Entertainment Weekly.

“I like picking fights. I like that Breitbart News wants to have my head. I’d be ashamed 10 years from now if those weaselly little putzes, whose voices are getting a lot higher every week as this presidency starts to look worse and worse, weren’t still [after me],” he said. “Steve Bannon is a failed f***ing screenwriter, and if you’ve ever read [his] screenplay, it’s unbelievable.”

Wow. Clooney also mentioned that if Bannon was still Hollywood-bound, he would be “licking my a** to get me to do one of his stupid-a** screenplays.”

So what’s Clooney’s beef with the Breitbart News honcho? It’s all tied into his beef with the Trump administration, and the fact that he’s not a big fan of Breitbart. The site has a habit of calling out what it views as ‘elitist’ celebrities, and also espouses political viewpoints that run counter to Clooney’s beliefs.

This isn’t the first time he has directly addressed Bannon via an interview either. Earlier this year, he made similar comments while defending Meryl Streep for her controversial speech at the Golden Globes.

“Steve Bannon is a failed film writer and director. That’s the truth. That’s what he’s done,” Clooney said at the time. “He made a lot of money off of ‘Seinfeld.’ …He’s elitist Hollywood, I mean, that’s the reality.”

During his investment banking days, Bannon purchased a stake in Castle Rock Entertainment, which just so happened to produce the iconic sitcom ‘Seinfeld.’ While it’s unclear how much Bannon profited off of the show directly, there have been whispers that he made a small fortune. As for Clooney, it’s pretty safe to say that he’s won this little tiff for now, but we won’t be surprised to see a salvo fired back from Bannon now that he’s back at Breitbart.
