Jennifer Aniston Remembers When She Knew She Would Be Okay After Split From Brad Pitt

Remember when the hottest couple in Hollywood was Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston? Aniston's sitcom and claim to fame, 'Friends', was still the most popular show on television and the six stars were raking in a whopping $1-million-per-episode salary.

Brad Pitt was the most sought-after leading man in Hollywood, one of the highest priced film stars, and considered the 'Sexiest Man Alive'. It's been a long time since Aniston and Pitt split, and they've both had a lot of ups and downs since then.

After a second failed marriage, Pitt is determined to make amends, but Aniston told Oprah she knew it would all work out.

Pitt and Aniston were married in 2000, and everyone seemed to think that the golden couple might defy the odds. They didn't, though, and the marriage quickly fell apart after five years.

Pitt met Angelina Jolie during the filming of 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith', and shortly after, rumors of an affair began to swirl.

Pitt and Aniston split, Pitt began adopting Jolie's children, and then the two continued to add to their family through natural birth and adoption. The two went strong for almost eight years, but it all ended in disaster.

Jolie reported that Pitt had gotten into a heated altercation with her eldest son on a plane, and the actress accused Pitt of infidelity and abuse.

Many people on 'Team Aniston' thought Pitt's biggest mistake was leaving his first wife. Aniston has always been very private about her divorce from Pitt, though over the years as she's moved on with her life she's spoken about how she has gotten through the heartbreak.

Aniston told Oprah that she knew she was going to be okay once when she was doing yoga with a friend. As she stretched she says she had an epiphany. She looked over at her friend and said, "You know what? I have to say, I'm feeling a feeling I don't know if I've ever actually felt before, and that is that I don't want to be anywhere other than where I am right now."

As the audience applauded, Aniston continued, "I'm not sitting somewhere dwelling on the past, or I'm not fretting or obsessing of something in the future... it was a feeling of total peace."

Aniston has since married actor and screenwriter Justin Theroux, and after two years of marriage and four years of dating the couple seems to be going strong.

Pitt, meanwhile, is determined to make peace with his past, and his ex-wife, said an insider to In Touch Weekly. "He’s been determined to apologize for everything he put her through, and that’s exactly what he did. It was the most intimate conversation Brad and Jen have ever had.”

Pitt might be in the midst of making amends with his second wife as well; reports say that his divorce to Jolie has been stalled. As he’s cleaned himself up and worked through his issues, some insiders say the actress has realized she’s still in love with him.

They believe a reconciliation is more likely than the divorce getting finalized at this point.
