Julia Stiles Has Message For Followers After Her Parental Ability Comes Under Attack

The world of social media can be rather unwelcoming at times, and that’s especially true for famous faces. There are hordes of amateur critics out there just looking for the next target to pounce on, and they can pile on in a hurry when a discussion gains some traction.

Actress Julia Stiles just had a first-hand experience with that, and she’s offered up a response for the haters of the world while taking the high road.

As Yahoo shares, Stiles recently shared a snap of her and her five-week-old son, who was nestled in a frontside carrier for the pic.

“I haven't worn a back pack since middle school. Now I have a front pac,” she wrote.

Critics were quick to pounce, as they claimed that she was carrying her child around in haphazard fashion. As often happens on social media, it turned into quite a thing - so much so that Stiles felt compelled to respond.

“It was brought to my attention that in the previous photo I am not holding my baby correctly. Wow, I didn't expect that. What was supposed to be a shout out of products I like, suddenly becomes an invitation to comment on my baby, and my ability as a mother,” she wrote. “That's the internet for you, the carnivorous plant from 'Little Shop of Horrors.’”

She would go on to explain that all was well and that no one needs to be concerned for her child’s safety, and she even offered up a suggestion for those with far too much time on their hands.

“I was trying to keep much of my son's image private, including, I guess, his little feet. And it was just a photo taken at home, not how I normally carry him around. Thanks for the concern, anyway,” she continued. “Yes, Mothers, always read the safety instructions. But also, Instagrammers: instead of writing snarky comments about a 5 week old, try dancing around your living room to a Clash record. It's way more fun.”

Situations such as this one pop up all the time on the world wide web. Something is made out of nothing, and the trolls have a field day from that point.

While it’s impossible to get into the minds of each and every poster, there’s something to be said for the mob mentality that seems to take over when folks continually pile on and beat a dead horse into the ground. It’s as if there’s a big old game of ‘top this’ going on in the minds of many posters, while others just come across as awfully angry about everything.

In any event, it’s been an eventful few months for the new mom. Back in September, she married her beau, Preston J. Cook, and the pair welcomed their bundle of joy the following month.

We wish the new mom and the undoubtedly proud papa nothing but the best, and give a tip of the cap to Stiles for not letting random comments from strangers ruin her outlook on things.
