Kendall Jenner's Response To Internet Critics Who Make Fun Of Her Acne Is Priceless

Kendall Jenner was spotted on the red carpet at the Golden Globes last week, and her presence caused a bit of a stir on Twitter. The stir was not over the fact that no one could figure out why she was at the Golden Globes, but because she had the nerve to show up with (gasp!) acne on her face.

A lot of social media users took the opportunity to slam the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, but Jenner's response was absolutely brilliant.

Jenner is listed at the top of Forbes top-earning model list, so sometimes it's easy to forget that she's a real person. Like everyone else, she has real health issues that can crop up.

For Kendall, acne has been a recurring problem.

The reality star has been frank about her acne struggles in the past. When she was a teenager, she wrote about her feelings frequently on a now defunct blog.

According to Marie Claire, in one blog post, she wrote, "I had such bad acne when I was younger."

"It completely ruined my self-esteem—I wouldn't even look at people when I talked to them. I felt like such an outcast; when I spoke, it was with my hand covering my face."

She began to accept herself as she got older.

“What I want everyone to understand is that it’s been a process: It wasn’t anything that happened overnight. But slowly, I’m working towards not caring, and I’m just in so much of a better place about it all now that I’m older," she later wrote.

It may be hard to believe, but it really was a blow to Jenner's self-esteem. She worked with a dermatologist for years to get her skin problems under control, but for some people it's just genetic and requires a lot of time and patience for treatments to take effect.

Jenner looked gorgeous in her black Giambattista Valli couture ball gown. The gown featured a full ballroom high-low skirt.

She paired it with black patent t-strap Christian Louboutin shoes, zig-zag diamond earrings and a 10-carat grey diamond pinky ring.

But of course, a lot of people didn't see her stunning outfit, smart accessories, perfect make-up or gorgeous hair. They saw the acne, and took to Twitter to share some hate.

"[I'm] not even gonna lie, she looks ugly," one person said.

"Omg is this a Kendall imposter! Girl looks sick," said another.

Some fans got it. "Ok but @KendallJenner showing up and strutting her acne while looking like a gorgeous star is what every girl needs to understand," wrote one fan.

Jenner proudly responded, "never let that shit stop you!"

That is a lesson everyone should put away on the mental Rolodex. No matter what you look like, no one can control everything about their looks 100% of the time.

The important thing is to focus on the positive, and not sweat the things you may not like. Take care of yourself and take care of your health, but don’t let your imperfections stop you from living and enjoying life.

At a time when society is celebrating female empowerment, the last thing we should be doing is tearing a woman down because of minor flaws.
