Users Suggest Boycott Of Jim Beam After Mila Kunis Reveals How She Trolls VP Pence

Politics crosses over into virtually everything these days, and that can lead to all kinds of problems. Many folks share their political opinions with abandon these days, and they could seemingly care less that their viewpoints are not shared by all. We’re not just talking about the various talking points flying around on social media at any point in time either. There are a ton of famous folks that take the bait and dip their toes into the political waters with nary a thought given to the consequences.

As USA Today shares, our latest example comes courtesy of actress Mila Kunis, who shared an amusing anecdote during a recent appearance on TBS's "Conan." Kunis explained that she’s a huge supporter of Planned Parenthood, and that she staunchly opposes viewpoints that have been expressed by Vice President Mike Pence. So how is she dealing with that? She’s been sending in monthly donations to the group - in Pence’s name.

"I don't look at it as a prank, I look at it just as, I strongly disagree [with him], and this is my little way of showing it," she said.

Unsurprisingly, her little aside didn’t go over too well with everyone. Before you knew it, there was a movement afoot on social media to boycott one of the products that Kunis is known for endorsing.

“JIM BEAM Fans Boycott After Spokesperson and Liberal Actress Brags About Taunting VP Mike Pence/Defending Life,” shared one user.

“Dear @jimbeam: Your spokesperson is being disrespectful to VP Pence. Why would Mila Kunis want to insult 1/2 your customers?” added another commenter.

While some folks have dismissed this as sour grapes that will ultimately have no real effect on Jim Beam’s bottom line, we can’t say with confidence that will be the end result. What if this movement grows some serious legs? As the above user noted, it’s not out of the question to assume that half of the product’s target market swings to the Right. Why would anyone want to potentially alienate such a huge amount of consumers?

“After drinking Jim Beam for 30 years Im done. Your spokeswoman Kunis donates to Planned Parenthood in Pence's name,” wrote one user.

“@JimBeam supports murdering babies via their spokesperson Mila Kunis,” posted another user.

Kunis is perfectly entitled to her opinions. She’s even entitled to advocate for Planned Parenthood as she sees fit. But why does she feel the need to make things so personal with the VP? By extension, why would she not even consider that some of her fans may not agree with what she has to say?

“Just dumped out my last-ever bottle of Jim Beam and upgraded to 2 new bottles of Blanton & Bulleitt. Here's to safe babies,” chimed in one poster.

It’s incredibly contentious out there these days, and there’s a lot of passion on both sides. We certainly get that, but it remains nothing short of mind-numbing to see celebs, athletes, and even entire companies that dig their feet in the ground while making partisan points. The points don’t help bring folks together, but they certainly do a whole lot towards increasing the divide.
