First Lady Melania Trump’s Eleven Most Fashionable Moments

First Lady Melania Trump has quickly become the first lady of fashion. She has carefully curated her style since her husband took office in January 2017. Though this style perfection comes with the assistance of her stylist and designer of her Inaugural gown, French designer Hervé Pierre.

From her Jackie O. inspired look at the Presidential Inauguration to a classic red suit upon arrival in Paris, here are some of her most stylish moments to-date.

Inaugural Dress Donation to the Smithsonian

First Lady Melania Trump donned an ivory brocade Dolce & Gabbana dress with pink Manolo Blahnik pumps for the donation and presentation of her Inaugural gown to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. She also wore a beautiful pink Christian Dior coat over her shoulders.

The first lady's dress is now on display in the center of the museum's First Ladies exhibition. Gifting of the Inaugural ballgown is a time-honored Washington tradition that dates back one hundred years.

Arrival In Paris for Bastille Day Celebrations

The first lady certainly made a style statement when arriving in Paris on Air Force One by wearing a classic red Christian Dior skirt-suit with fabulous Manolo Blahnik red suede pumps. The choice in French designer was perfection for both diplomacy and fashion. Her stylist, the French designer of her Inaugural gown, Hervé Pierre, told WWD that her look was an homage to Dior’s 70th Anniversary and the “Christian Dior: Couturier du Reve” retrospective at Les Arts Decoratifs.

Murabba Palace in Saudi Arabia

Melania Trump stunned in a raspberry cape-style floor-length Reem Acra dress with matching Christian Louboutin patent pumps at Murabba Palace in Saudi Arabia while being escorted by King Salman. She accessorized the gorgeous gown with a spectacular diamond collar. Although the first lady’s trip to Saudi Arabia was short, she made it a point to stay modest throughout her time there.

State of the Union Address

The first lady had all eyes on her when she made an entrance to her husband’s State of the Union address on January 30, 2017. She wore a beautiful ivory Christian Dior capri pantsuit with a Dolce & Gabbana blouse and tan Christian Louboutin stilettos. Melania broke a long-standing tradition when she decided to ride in a limo with the guests she invited to sit in the first lady’s box during the State of the Union speech.

Meeting with Prince Harry at the Invictus Games

On September 23, 2017, the first lady met with Prince Harry during the Invictus Games in Toronto where she wore a houndstooth double-breasted capri pant suit by Christian Dior with black stilettos. The sleeves on this suit are three-quarter length, and Melania did not use any accessories, leaving the look totally classic.

Although there was a lot of attention focused on the awkward body language between First Lady Melania Trump and Prince Harry, she remained composed and elegant throughout their meeting.

Meeting with Argentine President's Wife

The Argentine President's wife, Juliana Awada, visited The White House and met with First Lady Melania Trump. Both of their styles were catwalk-worthy.

Awada wore a classic red suit with ruffle trim. Although she did stir up a bit of controversy because she wore Aquazzura stilettos, a brand that was suing Ivanka Trump’s shoe company at the time.

Melania went with a military-inspired khaki Altuzarra skirt suit with gold and snakeskin detailing. She coordinated this look beautifully with Manolo Blahnik snakeskin pumps.

Diplomatic Meeting with First Lady Sophie Trudeau

On October 11, 2017, First Lady Melania Trump and First Lady Sophie Trudeau met at the White House alongside their husbands, President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Melania wore a conservative charcoal grey Ralph Lauren suit consisting of a fitted blazer and wide-legged pants. She paired the look with a classic white button-down shirt and a loosely undone skinny tie. The first ladies had already met a few weeks prior at the Invictus Games.

Visit to the Excel Academy in Washington D.C.

When Melania Trump visited Excel Academy, an all-girls charter school, in Washington D.C. for a short listening session her look was all-business in an emerald green Herve Pierre Wool Crepe Scarf Detail Dress topped off with Christian Louboutin pumps in black python. She was there to focus on the importance of women’s education with Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan, who is an advocate for education, and U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

Welcome Ceremony in Beijing

During a 12-day tour of Asia in November 2017, the first lady’s fashion diplomacy was on-point. Her ensembles ranged from a Fendi striped floral applique cardigan upon arrival in Tokyo to a loose-fitting red Valentino gown for an official dinner at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo and also a J. Mendel black and blue sequin lace gown for a state dinner with South Korea's President Moon Jae-In.

The first lady stood-out in the most fabulous way at a welcome ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where she wore a lavishly embroidered dress by Dolce & Gabbana. Whereas the wife of the Chinese President Xi Jinping, Peng Liyuan, opted to wear a conservative suit.

Presidential Inauguration

Melania Trump made a style statement at her husband’s Inauguration on January 20, 2017, where she channeled Jackie O. The first lady donned a gorgeous powder blue suit by Ralph Lauren. And she completed the look perfectly with matching blue suede gloves and blue stilettos. Melania Trump held her husband’s hand as she elegantly walked down Pennsylvania Avenue during the Inauguration Parade.

Presidential Inaugural Balls

On January 20, 2017, Melania Trump was the epitome of class and elegance at the Presidential Inaugural Balls in Washington D.C. where she danced the night away with her husband. She wore an off-white sheath silk crepe gown by Hervé Pierre.

This custom-made gown by Hervé Pierre was detailed with a thin claret ribbon tied around the waist and a ruffle that ran down the front of the gown. And in October 2017, the first lady donated her inaugural gown to the Smithsonian Institution.
