Couple Makes Disturbing Find Inside Daughter's Diaper

Lee and Michelle Yates of Liverpool, England were horrified to find that their five-month-old daughter had cuts and scrapes on her bottom when they changed her diaper one morning. Michelle notices dark patches in the diaper and when she investigated further, felt something sharp.

According to the Daily Mail, the culprit would turn out to be jagged bits of metal embedded in the diaper itself.

The parents would rush the baby to the hospital, and even discovered more diapers in the same pack also had bits of metal in the absorbent portion.

The diapers in question were a Pampers baby-dry jumbo Pack, and they were fearful that the metal had caused some serious damage to their daughter, who was born premature and is battling a low immune system.

"We were absolutely horrified when we found it. We took her straight to A&E and I was wondering how many other pieces of metal had been in the nappies as we had been using these nappies all week. As soon as she stopped wearing them there was an instant transformation," says Lee via the Daily Mail.

The baby turned out to have suffered only minor injuries, but that has done little to quell the parents' anger.

“We were absolutely outraged and shocked that this had happened. You put trust in these big companies, especially when dealing with intimate hygienic areas and you expect things like this to be checked and go through quality control,” Lee said.

The parents would take to Reddit to warn others of their experience, while a spokesman for Pampers has offered the company’s apologies and assures the public they are investigating the matter.

Lee states "We don’t want compensation but we want to know what happened and have someone investigate transparently, determine the cause and make sure that no other babies are affected."
