Donald Trump's Speech Has Deteriorated Over Time - Experts Want To Know Why

When you regularly speak in front of large groups of people, there’s a good chance you’ll make a flub or two here and there. No matter how deft you are at speaking in public, it still remains an intimidating endeavor as one small mistake can quickly override anything else you have to say. That’s especially true for world leaders, and there’s a ton of comics out there that have made a living on pouncing on mistakes that have been made. Beyond the embarrassment, the flubs can begin to spark concerns about the capacities of the speaker in question. As Yahoo shares, that’s about where we are right now with President Donald Trump.

In recent times, the president has made a number of high-profile gaffes that you can be sure White House staff wishes they could take back right about now. For example, he offered up an incredibly curious answer at a press conference just last week.

“ … there is no collusion between certainly myself and my campaign, but I can always speak for myself - and the Russians, zero,” he said.

Wordsmiths around the globe had a field day with that one, as did those that feel there’s a bit more than meets the eye on the whole Russia story. What Trump was trying to say was incredibly unclear, and that only adds more fuel to the fire of conspiracy talk. Beyond the lack of clarity in his words, the president also seems to jump around from topic to topic with no seeming rhyme or reason.

“People want the border wall. My base definitely wants the border wall, my base really wants it - you’ve been to many of the rallies. OK, the thing they want more than anything is the wall. My base, which is a big base; I think my base is 45 percent,” Trump said during an interview last month. “You know, it’s funny. The Democrats, they have a big advantage in the Electoral College. Big, big, big advantage. … The Electoral College is very difficult for a Republican to win, and I will tell you, the people want to see it. They want to see the wall.”

Perhaps Trump is one of those folks whose mind moves so fast that their vocabulary has a tough time keeping up. In any event, it’s too early to jump to conclusions as to whether these small signs point to larger problems, but the world is definitely watching and looking for more clues.
