Plastic Surgery Addict Goes In For Nose Job, Leaves With Something Else

A man's compulsive plastic surgery habit finally caught up with him in a rather strange way.

A 45-year-old man from Croatia was left with a condition known as Priapism after having a negative reaction to anesthetia during a rhinoplasty procedure. Priapism leaves sufferers with a painful and persistent erection that can last for several hours and often causes severe damage to the penis if left untreated.

Neven Ciganovic was being filmed for documentary series when his nose surgery triggered the adverse reaction, leaving him hospitalized for around a week.

Mr. Ciganovic, a stylist from Croatia, was undergoing a rhinoplasty in Iran when he was struck down with Priapism and left in excruciating pain. “I was in Iran for rhinoplasty for the documentary film which is covering my life,” Mr. Ciganovic revealed.

“[During the surgery], I was given general anesthesia and I reacted badly to it.” Priapism is an extremely painful condition that usually leaves the patient with a rigid, inflexible penis and is considered a medical emergency.

Although doctors immediately recognized the condition, Mr. Ciganovic was left in unimaginable pain for a number of days at a hospital in Belgrade, Serbia.

He “did not receive analgesics because they do not give them to patients here,” Mr. Ciganovic explained, having to remain in the hospital another five days. If Priapism is not treated within the first 24 hours, the condition can cause erectile dysfunction and other issues.

Fortunately, doctors were later able to treat Mr. Ciganovic’s condition, reversing the Priapism during yet another operation. While Mr. Ciganovic is back to normal, it will take him several months to recover from the ordeal.

Mr. CIganovic, a budding movie star who is “looking forward to a movie about [himself},” has had more than a dozen different plastic surgery procedures performed, including a nose job and Botox injections. Mr. Ciganovic’s most recent surgery, despite the minor mishap, was to correct a wonky septum, which Mr. Ciganovic claims will be enough to launch his career as an actor.

“I’m looking forward to a movie about myself,” Mr. Ciganovic revealed. “I think this is a big deal and I hope this is the start of my international career.”

Having tried almost every cosmetic surgery procedure known to man, Mr. Ciganovic has been considering other, non-surgical techniques to achieve his desired look. Techniques such as the ‘vampire facelift’, while less intense than going under the knife, still involves drawing the patient’s blood, before it is used as a skin filler for the patient.

Mr. Ciganovic has brushed off the harsh criticism of the public, shutting down their claims that he looked better before the plastic surgeries: “I often hear from people that I looked better before surgery. It was a long time ago and I'm curious: Who wouldn't look better if they are 20 years younger?"

Despite Mr. Ciganovic’s positive outlook, it has not stopped the public from expressing their contempt with his plastic surgery addiction. User ‘happyhargreaves’ commented “There you have it folks - everything that is shallow, narcissistic and gruesome about today's society.” Another user ‘Mr. Dog,’ chipped in, “At least five years there for a good psychiatrist.”
