After Boy Has Shoes Stolen by Bullies, Police Show Up To Buy Him A New Pair

After bullies stole his shoes, one Ohio boy had to wear his grandmother’s shoes to school the next day. And because of this, he was taunted and teased.

He couldn’t bear the harassment anymore and decided to skip school. That’s when two Hamilton County Sheriff’s Officers stepped in, according to Fox News Insider.

"They took up a collection within the district and drove the boy to Foot Locker where he was told to pick out any pair of gym shoes he wanted,” police said. “You can see he's elated and hugging our Deputy.”

Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil said he wanted to share the story so people realize that police commit these acts of kindness all the time while on the job.

"In a time when nationally some want to bash police and portray us all in a negative light, I hope people realize THIS is the face of law enforcement!" Neil told FOX News Insider.

"This is just one of countless stories of caring Deputies dedicated to going above and beyond for the citizens we serve."

StopBullying.gov is a website that provides insight from various government agencies on different forms of bullying. The site states, "When adults respond quickly and consistently to bullying behavior they send the message that it is not acceptable. Research shows this can stop bullying behavior over time."

And StopBullying.gov adds that "Parents, school staff, and other adults in the community can help kids prevent bullying by talking about it, building a safe school environment, and creating a community-wide bullying prevention strategy."

StopBullying.gov encourages people to get help "if you have done everything you can to resolve the situation and nothing has worked, or someone is in immediate danger, there are ways to get help."
