Single Mom Thrilled To Learn That Miracles Do Happen

A housekeeper who has long struggled to support herself and her three children recently got the surprise of her life.

Spotlight reported that the single mom, 36-year-old Cara Simmons, has had to do multiple jobs to take care of her family. She never got a paid day off or a vacation, spending many hours cleaning homes.

All the hard work took a toll on her body.

More than once, Simmons required treatment for stomach ulcers. The hospital visits put an additional burden on her finances.

The housekeeping service who employed the mom, Maid Bright, was impressed that she continued to do her job well despite her failing health. Officials at the company decided to do something nice for Simmons by involving her in a “Prank It Forward” scheme.

One day, they told her to clean a house where a party was scheduled that night, stressing that the home belonged to “someone important.”

When Simmons arrived at the elegant house, Madeline Blue met her at the front door. After the housekeeper finished her cleaning, Blue assigned her additional tasks.

The woman led Simmons into the kitchen to speak with a private chef who was cooking food for the party.

Simmons then was asked to sit at a table in the dining room and serve as a “taste tester.” She was amazed when the chef presented her with a plate of lobster and truffles.

As Simmons finished sampling the fancy meal, she heard the doorbell ring. She complied when Blue told her to see who was there.

The visitors were massage therapists packing reflexology tables, supposedly for the party. Blue suggested that the two men “warm up” by giving the housekeeper a four-hand rubdown.

That is when Simmons began to realize that something strange was happening. She later recalled that she felt like she was dreaming.

As it turned out, she was the subject of a prank that involved not only her bosses, but also her sister and her kids.

Before Simmons knew it, she was being shown a closet bursting with clothes and being told to pick out anything she wanted.

To her amazement, all the garments were the size she wore. The sister had done the shopping for the clothes.

Simmons, still not understanding exactly what was going on, then saw a delivery man bringing boxes of her possessions into the house. She told him that it was not her home, and that he was making a mistake.

That is when the long-suffering domestic worker learned that she was the house’s new owner.

“I have always wanted to own a home,” Simmons said.

“I remember being young and having a home with my family, and my parents got a divorce, and it changed, and we moved, but I remember the happiness there. I think my family will just create awesome memories in this house.”

That was not all the woman’s sister and employer had in store for Simmons. They also gave her a paid vacation to Mexico that included a tour of the Mayan ruins.

“I was in shock and stunned and crying,” she said.

“I had no idea what was going on. It was the most amazing prank.”

According to Spotlight, a video of Simmons’ reaction had been viewed more than 10 million times online at last report.
