Mother Devastated to Learn 3-Year-Old Stands On Toilet As Part Of Lockdown Drill At School

Scores of children and parents across the United States have had to come to terms with the reality that they simply must know what to do if an incident occurs that involves an active shooter.

According to the MailOnline, this mom was shocked – but thankful – that these so-called lockdown drills have made it all the way down to the preschool level.

Stacey Wehrman Feeley of Travers City, MI had shared a photo with her husband that she misinterpreted as her three-year-old doing a little misbehaving at preschool. The photo shows the girl standing on top of the toilet, and of course, the proud mom thought it was adorable and just had to share.

As her daughter would later explain to her, she wasn’t misbehaving. In fact, there was a really good reason why she was standing on top of the toilet.

The girl’s actions were part of a lockdown drill at the school. Teachers and administrators have taught the children what they must do in the event of an attack.

When the reality of that sank in, Stacey found herself pretty upset. But she would use it as an opportunity to share the powerful image, and call for changes to gun laws.

“Politicians - take a look. This is your child, your children, your grandchildren, your great-grandchildren and future generations to come,” Stacey shared.
