Airport Cleaning Crew Makes Horrific Discovery in Bathroom: A Dead Fetus

A flight cleaning crew in LaGuardia Airport in New York were shocked on Tuesday morning when they discovered a dead fetus on an American Airlines plane. The plane had just arrived in the Queens airport from North Carolina the night before. A spokesperson for the airline said an investigation is underway.

American Airlines Flight 1942 left Charlotte at 8:56 p.m. on Monday night, and arrived in New York at 10:44 p.m. The plane was then parked in an airport hangar, and a cleaning crew went to work in it on Tuesday morning. That is when the discovery was made inside a toilet.

"As we continue to learn more about this tragic and sensitive situation, we are actively cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation," said a spokesperson for American Airlines in a statement. "Please contact law enforcement for additional information."

The spokesperson added that the incident wouldn't have any major impact to Tuesday morning's operations.

LaGuardia airport tweeted that people should expect some delays. "The out of service @americanair plane at Terminal B has been cleared. No further operational impacts are anticipated for fliers," it read.

Two hours later, the airport tweeted that everything was clear. "the out of service @americanair plane at Terminal B has been cleared. No further operational impacts are anticipated for fliers."

An hour after that, they tweeted, "There may be delays at #LGA. Please allow extra time and contact your airline."

New York's City Medical Examiner is trying to determine a cause of death for the fetus. "The OCME can confirm we’re investigating what we believe to be a human fetus found deceased on an airplane,” the agency said in a statement.

According to the airline, the flight from South Carolina was the only flight for the day. As of yet, it is not known who left the fetus in the toilet, or what the circumstances surrounding the incident might have been.

One furious passenger responded to American Airlines on Twitter, complaining about the delays and the lack of information.

The woman raged in all caps, "WTF IS GOING ON?!!!! THIS IS INSANE. YOU DELAYED THE FLIGHT 3 TIMES!!!!!! IM MISSING MY 2nd FLIGHT BECAUSE OF YOU. WTF IS GOING ON?!!! WHY DONT YOU HAVE ANOTHER AIRCRAFT???????"

The airline responded, "We're delayed due to the medical needs of a customer, Chalyn. We'll do our best to have you in the air ASAP!"

"THIS PERSON HAD A MEDICAL PROBLEM FOR 3 HOURS?????? THIS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 7am. THATS IMPOSSIBLE!!!" the passenger responded.

Others on Twitter were more concerned about the fetus and the mother.

"I know it can be frustrating, but that’s a human life. I hope and pray that always takes priority. I hope you were able to get where you needed to go," said one person.

"This is a sad and tragic thing that happen. I hope the woman is seeking medical attention and the family of the baby will heal from this loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to the mother and the family," said another.

“They didn’t tell us anything until we were already waiting at the gate,” complained the disgruntled passenger. “We didn’t find out until about 7:40 a.m. that the flight was going to be delayed.”
