Dedicated Nurse Comes To Work On Day Off To Sing For Dying Patient

A man named Jeremiah Nichol is happy to share a story about the nurse who gave a small measure of joy to his grandma in her final days.

Jeremiah knew his grandma was dying and that she didn’t have much time left. She was very sick in the hospital and was on various medications and oxygen. But she was still alive and appreciated the love and extra attention she received from one member of the hospital staff in particular.

Almost all nurses are extremely hardworking people who help with the physical and emotional needs of their patients in so many ways. A few nurses, however, regularly go above and beyond their regular duties.

Isabelle is that kind of nurse. She is constantly going out of her way for people like she did for his grandma, and Jeremiah wants to make sure that everyone knows about it.

You see, when nurse Isabelle discovered that Jeremiah’s grandma, Helen, didn’t have much time left, she made the effort to came to Helen’s room on her day off to visit with her.

After the two women chatted quietly for a while, Isabelle took Helen’s arm and asked if she could sing for her….and it was truly amazing.

The old saw says that everyone is blessed with their own talents, and it is clear that Isabelle is gifted with the voice of an angel.

The good news is the entire visit was recorded on the hospital security camera, so Jeremiah and his family will never forget this special moment.

For whatever reason, it seems that nurses just don’t get anywhere near the respect and recognition they deserve. Of course, a doctor is often hailed as a hero when he or she saves lives in the operating room. Nurses take care of people all of the time, and rarely get even a fraction of the recognition that doctors receive.

In another similar incident, a nurse named Olivia Neufelder sat with a patient named Margaret Smith for hours to comfort her by singing as the anesthesia wore off.

Smith’s daughter decided to post a sweet video on Facebook of the nurse holding her mother’s hand and singing to her.

“You never left her side by choice!” Smith commented in her post.

“Words cannot describe the appreciation and love we feel for nurse Olivia who mom calls her angel! Your dedication to your patients is beyond any that I have seen, you truly are a beam of light and I cannot thank you enough for the compassion and care and love you shared for my mother. God bless you Olivia!”

Unfortunately, Margaret did not recover from the surgery. Neufelder expressed her sorrow over losing Margaret.

“Knowing that she will be dancing in the heavens and singing with the angels helps me find peace during this somber time,” Neufelder remarked. “This experience has challenged me in many ways.”

The caring nurse says she hopes anyone who watches the video will see what true compassion looks like and incorporate that compassion in their own lives.

“I pray this story helps people find comfort through a dark time they may be going through,” she noted in an interview with local media.
