Melania's Health Routine To Stay Trim And Fit

Looking at Melania Trump, it's hard to believe she's 47 years old. The mom of one might not be a fashion model anymore, but she still keeps in incredible shape. A lot of women are looking to emulate Melania by getting their hair to look like hers, trying to mimic her fashion style or even by getting cosmetic surgery.

One good place to begin, though, might be by following her healthy routine, because it is at the heart of why the FLOTUS is in such great shape.

Melania has always said that she believes good, healthy habits are important. She doesn't like Botox, she has been known to say. She does work out regularly to keep fit and healthy.

In past interviews, she's revealed that she enjoys playing tennis, doing Pilates, and works out with ankle weights. She credits exercise with how she got in shape after giving birth to her son, Barron.

Just like keeping up with a regular fitness routine, the First Lady likes to keep up with a regular healthy way of eating. She's not into fad diets. According to Yahoo! News, Melania is a stickler for a healthy diet that allows for an occasional indulgence.

She likes to eat fresh produce so that she can get all of the nutrients and minerals that she needs. This keeps her hair growing strong and her skin glowing.

The First Lady strives to eat a variety of fruit. She reportedly eats seven servings of fresh fruit per day. Melania also likes to drink her nutrition by throwing the ingredients into a smoothie.

In 2011, Mrs. Trump also revealed to Bella NYC that she takes supplements. "I take vitamins A, C, and E to keep my skin, hair, and nails healthy,” she explained.

Oatmeal with its high fiber and complex carbohydrates, is also a favorite of the first lady. Oatmeal is a great source of gluten-free grains that provides lots of fiber and anti-oxidants, according to Healthline.com. It can help with weight loss, controlling the blood sugar, and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Mrs. Trump does say she splurges every now and then. "I love chocolate and ice cream, and I have those things once in a while. It's good to indulge cravings and your tastes once in a while...as long as you balance those things with healthy foods."

One of her favorite indulgence meals is chicken parm from Jean Georges in New York City, reports AOL.

Rounding out Melania’s healthy routine is to keep herself hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and to slather on the moisturizer regularly.

According to Burke Williams Spa, moisturizing helps prevent skin problems like wrinkles and acne. It helps your skin retain that healthy balance that it needs to stay smooth and soft. It helps blemishes fade and keeps your skin young looking and glowing.

It would be lovely if there were a pill, a drink or procedure that could help us keep in shape and looking our best, but the truth is that taking care of yourself requires discipline and effort. When you adapt to a lifestyle of healthy habits like Melania Trump has, you can really reap the benefits.
