Landlord Notices Bad Smell While Cleaning House - Calls 911 When He Sees What It Is

A landlord was left confused after discovering a concrete structure with a foul smelling odor left on one of his properties. What was found inside left him and police disgusted and shocked.

After chipping into the concrete, police found the body of a small child, believed to be missing toddler, Evan Brewer. Police have tentatively identified the remains, reaffirming that “confirmation of the child’s identity is being coordinated through the Sedgwick County Medical Examiner.”

The former Mayor of Wichita, Carl Brewer, has expressed his devastation over the discovery of his grandson’s remains in a concrete slab at a rental home in Wichita, Kansas. Mr. Brewer has confessed that his family “are devastated by the death of [their] sweet and loving grandson. We cannot begin to make sense of this tragedy but are thankful the suspects are in custody."

While police are still investigating, the remains of what is believed to be the body of young Evan Brewer were discovered after a landlord was cleaning his recently vacated home.

“I hate to say it, but it looked like a small coffin. Cause it was like the size of a toddler bed. But very heavy,” A neighbor told reporters. “(It) took a forklift to get it out of the house.”

On the same day that Evan’s body was discovered, the dead boy’s mother, Miranda Miller, 36, and her boyfriend, 40-year-old Stephen Bodine were arrested on suspicions of aggravated assault and aggravated interference with parental custody, however, the couple are now suspected of playing a role in the death of the toddler.

Earlier this year, the couple were also being investigated for allegations that Evan was being abused and beaten “to the point of death” and regularly appeared “filthy and without appropriate clothing.” Evan’s father, Carlo Brewer, had attempted to get a court order to protect the young toddler from Ms. Miller and her boyfriend, Mr. Bodine, however, the couple could not be found to issue the order.

Mr. Bodine is currently being held on $260,000 bond while Ms. Miller is being held on a $25,000 bond; both individuals are yet to be charged with the murder of the toddler. Both individuals are currently being held at Sedgwick County Jail.

A friend of Mr. Brewer, the father of the child, has revealed that Ms. Miller was planning on moving to Texas, taking little Evan with her without informing Mr. Brewer. Furthermore, it has come to light that Ms. Miller began refusing Mr. Brewer’s visitation time after he spoke with her regarding talk of abuse from Evan.

“It’s definitely a tragedy,” neighbor Toni Freund commented before admitting that she had never noticed a child living at the residence. Lieutenant Jeff Gilmore has expressed his own heartbreak over the case, stating that “child death are always difficult cases.”

Mr. Lieutenant Gilmore went on to state that "the circumstances surrounding this case have been difficult for family, first responders and the community."
