Meet The Youngest Member Of The President's Family: Barron Trump

Barron Trump, President Donald Trump's youngest son, has not gotten a lot of press since his dad took office. Occasionally, in the heated fallout after Trump's shocking win, some Trump critics have taken aim at Barron and said something rude, but for the most part, focus has been on Trump's tanking job performance, controversial policies and obsessive tweeting. Trump's older children, who have gotten their noses into politics or their dad's business, have also faced a lot of criticism and hogged the spotlight. For a moment, let's try to step away from the controversies and look at this youngest, most overlooked member of the Trump family.

Barron was born on March 20, 2006, to Donald and Melania Trump. Trump has five older children from his two previous marriages, and Barron is his youngest and (presumably) last child. He was raised in Manhattan in a lavish, marble and gold-gilded penthouse and he just finished 5th grade at the Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School.

When Mr. Trump won, it seemed to come as a surprise even to the Trump family. Melania, a very hands-on mother, decided to stay back in New York City so Barron could finish out the school year with his friends. This summer, the two packed up and headed to Washington D.C. to join Mr. Trump in the White House.

Barron is probably the only White House kid for whom the Pennsylvania address was a step down. Back at Trump Tower, Barron didn't just have his own room; he had his own floor. He even gets to decorate it however he wants.

Despite this, the young lad seems to be relatively level-headed. He's been caught acting like every other kid, playing with fidget spinners, going bowling and joining the soccer team. His favorite subjects in school are math and science.

The family always tried keeping him grounded. The Trumps would normally make time to have a family dinner together every night, and they would share some all-important family time together.

According to his mother, Barron wants to be a lot like his old man when he grows up. He has aspirations of being a golfer, a businessman, and a pilot. Melania says he's a lot like his dad, and she sometimes calls him 'Little Donald'.

Barron is a smart kid in his own right. He speaks three languages: English, French and his mother's native tongue, Slovenian. But he usually reserves that language for when he talks to his grandparents.

Now that he's living in D.C., Barron goes to St. Andrew’s in Potomac, MD. He's the first child of a president who did not go to Sidwell Friends school.

One of Barron's favorite pastimes is Legos. "And sometimes we play together and build cities or airports using Magna Tiles and Legos. He builds big projects," Melania said in an interview once, according to Diply.

Barron has been caught wearing J-Crew shirts (which tend to sell out after he's photographed in them), but his former fashion model mom says he actually likes wearing suits. That's pretty unusual for an 11-year-old, and you can't help but wonder if maybe Melania is doing a little parental wishful thinking here.

Barron is getting big, fast. He's already almost as tall as his 6'2" father, and is about the same height as his 5'11" mother. If his father completes one term as president, he'll be around 15 by the time Trump leaves office, so it'll be very interesting to watch this young man grow.

If you were ever hoping to get in touch with Barron, you should know that he isn't allowed to have a social media account. There are a lot of Barron Trump accounts out there though, so don't be fooled by the fakes. Hopefully, this smart move will keep Barron from getting too much like his father. The last thing America needs is another Trump sticking his foot in his mouth every day on Twitter.
