Melania Trump Center Of Attention In Gorgeous Sequined Gown At Mar-A-Lago New Year's Eve Party

The Trumps closed out 2017 with a bang at the president's lavish Mar-a-Lago resort.

The family attended the party, which cost $750 per ticket for those who wanted to ring in the New Year with the first family. Melania Trump sparkled in her gorgeous Erdem Moralioglu gown.

While President Donald Trump's popularity tumbled this year to an all-time low popularity rating, the First Lady saw things turn around for her.

It took her a while to finish up her business in New York City and move to the White House, but now that she has, her rating is on a major upswing. She's now the most popular of the Trump clan.

One major challenge that the FLOTUS seemed to face early after her husband won the election was that a large number of designers vowed that they would not work with her. Many people in the fashion industry signed a petition stating that they would not be willing to dress the FLOTUS in protest of her husband.

They hadn't actually been asked to make anything for Melania, but they wanted to put it out there that they were resisting.

It doesn't seem like it's really mattered, though; Mrs. Trump, love her or hate her, has looked stunning throughout the year. The former fashion model did not disappoint on New Year's Eve when she attended the big bash on Sunday night in a $4,000 embroidered sequin gown.

The rose gold dress featured floral patterns and was paired with pink stiletto heels.

The dress usually sells at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman, but is currently sold out, according to the Palm Beach Post.

The rest of the family was looking spiffy as well, with the Trump men, including youngest son Barron Trump, wearing black tie. Ivanka Trump stunned as well in a blue and black gown with a metallic geometric pattern. The daring gown had a high thigh split and cut-out details at the waist.

Ivanka and Jared Kushner's two eldest children, Arabella and Joseph, were in tow, also dressed to the nines.

Lara Trump, wife of son Eric Trump, wore a Chiara Boni La Petite Robe plunging black bodysuit.

She tweeted a photo of her husband and herself, writing, "Thank you, 2017! Hello 2018."

"It's a very glam night. I think everyone is even more excited this year than last year, because then he was president-elect, he hadn't been sworn in," said Toni Holt Kramer, a party attendee and Trump supporter, to the Washington Post.

The Trumps have been blasted for continuing to attend parties at the president's properties, particularly swanky events like these for which ticket prices have skyrocketed since Trump won the election. Many have accused the POTUS of violating the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution with their continued tradition of spending the holidays at Trump's resort in Florida.

Even though the president no longer runs the hotel, or the business, he's still profiting from his real estate empire, particularly when he shows up at one of his properties and his wealthy supporters flock there.

"The president continues to find ways to profit from public office, by exploiting the fact that there are people who will pay to spend time with him and to be seen with him," government ethics expert Kathleen Clark told the Daily Mail.

Trump doesn't appear to care about mixing business or pleasure with politics. While walking the red carpet he stopped to tell reporters that he expects 2018 to be a 'fantastic' year.

"Stock market I think is going to continue to go up, companies are going to continue to come into the country," he said.
