People Outraged With Melania After Realizing What She Did To Michelle

It can be pretty easy to fall for things on social media. Things go viral in a hurry, and it’s all too easy to take information at face value when it’s being passed around like hotcakes.

However, there’s plenty of times that the information is later proven to be wrong. In fact, it becomes clear that someone put the information out there to specifically create the narrative they wanted to portray.

As Inquisitr shares, we saw a perfect example of that in the wake of this weekend’s tragic events in Charlottesville. Scores of people hopped on social media to share their thoughts, and First Lady Melania Trump was among them.

“Our country encourages freedom of speech, but let's communicate w/o hate in our hearts. No good comes from violence,” she wrote.

As with any comment emanating from the First Family, Melania’s comments were widely disseminated and dissected. Before too long, a row developed over the validity of her remarks. In fact, there was even a meme making the rounds that pointed out that former First Lady Michelle Obama had said the exact same thing before.

“You didn't borrow your tweet from FLOTUS Obama did you,” wrote one user that shared the meme.

That looked pretty damning, and many users bought into it. It’s easy to see why, as there was that whole thing from last year’s Republican National Convention to take into consideration. Melania offered up a speech that was less than original.

Let’s just say that her speechwriter took substantial liberties when putting pen to paper.

“Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them,” Melania said at the time.

“Because we want our children - and all children in this nation - to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them,” Michelle said in a previous speech.

The use of poetic license blew up - big time - and Melania’s overall credibility was seriously questioned. The matter eventually blew over, but it obviously hasn’t faded completely away. So was Melania guilty of doing the same thing again? It doesn’t appear so.

“As Snopes reports, Mrs. Obama is not known to have given any speeches, anywhere, on April 16, 2016. That means that the speech in which she supposedly said the words that Melania supposedly copied never happened,” IJR reports.

“Further, Snopes researchers failed to find any example of Michelle Obama ever saying those words, anywhere.”

Hmmm. So why would someone put this information out there to begin with? We’ll allow you to draw your own conclusions on that, but it does provide a valuable lesson for all of us. There’s a ton of fake stuff floating around out there each and every day.

While no one has the time to verify every piece of information out there, it’s always wise to take things with a grain of salt until you know it’s completely true.
