People Stunned When They See Who Malia Obama Was Yelling At

It's got to be hard growing up in the public eye, especially when you personally never did anything to make yourself famous. If anyone can attest to how difficult it is to grow up under a microscope, it's Malia Obama.

Even though her father is no longer president, the cameras still seem to follow her wherever she goes. Malia snapped at a woman who tried to take her picture.

Malia recently wrapped up her 'gap year' in New York City, where she interned for a film company and was stalked daily by the paparazzi. Photographers followed her on her family vacations this summer, as well as to her end-of-summer blow-out at the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago.

She probably thought she could get a little peace and quiet now that she was heading to Harvard University for her freshman year, but apparently not.

When the 19-year-old was outside a campus store on Saturday, someone couldn't help gawking at the former president's daughter. Malia is fed up with being gawked at, it seems.

According to TMZ, rumor has it that a woman with a cell phone camera in hand approached Malia and asked for a photo for her grandson. Malia, who was out for lunch with friends, politely declined the woman's request.

The woman walked out of the store, but she wasn't discouraged enough to leave. She simply waited for Malia to come out of the store. When the freshman stepped outside, the woman started snapping photos.

According to witnesses, an annoyed Malia looked at the woman and said, "Are you gonna take it in my face like an animal in a cage?"

The eager grandma didn't care. She got her photo, was satisfied, and walked away.

On Monday, during the solar eclipse, the Obamas helped move Malia into her Harvard dorm room. She got to go in a day before her fellow students began to arrive, and since it seems everyone was off trying to get a glimpse of the heavenly spectacle, the Obamas manage to slip under the radar.

Both Barack and Michelle Obama attended Harvard Law School, so they looked quite at home on the campus. They kept their heads down, wearing hats and glasses to throw off any attention.

After they helped their eldest child get settled, they quickly slipped away in an SUV.

It’s going to be a long time before Malia Obama is no longer newsworthy. Reporters began approaching Malia right away on Tuesday, but she was unwilling to pose for pictures and make any statements. Lucky for her, the majority respected her wishes.

But some students and visitors weren't quite so obliging. Now that everyone has a camera on them at all times, a lot of people have been getting in some sneak shots and posting them online.

One woman sent a photo of Malia and her younger brother, also an incoming freshman in Malia's dorm, chatting. "My brother and Malia are about to be besties," she wrote.

The woman later joked, "Obama is about to start inviting my family on family vacations. He's going to let me call him Barack."
