Princess Diana's Niece Seems To Take After Her Aunt A Lot - It's Uncanny

Princess Diana is arguably one of the most beloved women in history. Her untimely death 20 years ago sent shockwaves through not just the U.K., but the entire world.

To this day, people are endlessly fascinated by the details of her life, as is evident with all the books and documentaries still coming out.

Diana had two sons, Princes William and Harry, though she never had a daughter. If she had, no doubt that daughter would have looked exactly like Lady Kitty Spencer.

Spencer is the daughter of Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, and his first wife, Victoria Lockwood. She was only seven years old when her aunt died in 1997 in that horrible auto crash, but she's blossomed now into a beautiful 27-year-old woman who would no doubt make the Princess of Wales proud.

She vaguely remembers Diana, though her memories are scant, she admits.

"I was so young [when Diana was alive]. There are only a few memories, but special memories and happy memories, and I'm so lucky to have those," she said in an interview.

You might not have heard much about Spencer, who is a cousin to William and Harry. She largely was kept out of the limelight during her childhood.

She grew up in South Africa with her mother. It wasn't until a few years ago that she began making her first public appearances with the royal family.

She showed up in 2007 at the 10-year anniversary memorial service for Diana, and was also spotted at William's wedding to Catherine in 2011.

Staying out of the spotlight (or trying to) is one thing she has in common with her late aunt.

“I don’t think there really is a spotlight in South Africa. I don’t think anyone knew anything about my family," she noted.

"It was good to grow up in an environment where people built each other up. In South Africa you would be judged if you weren’t nice to people.”

Another thing Spencer has in common with her is her looks. Not only is the resemblance remarkable, but Spencer seems to take a cue from Diana's fantastic sense of style.

Spencer returned to London recently to complete her MA in Luxury Brand Management from Regent's University London. She studied psychology, politics and English literature at the University of Cape Town as an undergraduate.

Since getting her degree, she’s been putting it to use pursing causes about which she is very passionate. One more thing that makes her a lot like Diana is that she spends a lot of time doing charity work, particularly to help children.

She's the ambassador for Centrepoint, a charity that helps homeless youths.

Diana was known for visiting organizations that worked with homeless children, as well as with campaigns to help disarm land mines.

One way that Spencer is not like her aunt is that she doesn't seem to be planning to marry royalty. In fact, she's dating Niccolo Barattieri Di San Pietro, a famous Italian Real Estate developer.

One topic Spencer won’t talk about is her family. Specifically, she is very protective of Diana’s children.

“Out of respect for them, I can’t discuss them, sorry. This is the way it has always been.”

The Princess would be so proud.
