Teen Convinces Everyone She's Pregnant - Busted When She Posts Fake Sonogram Online

Teens often crave attention, but some of them will go overboard in trying to get it. They may tell a few lies to get the affection and sympathy that they desire, but those lies can end up like a snowballs rolling down a hill in winter. One teen is devastated now that it's come out that she's been fooling everyone by telling people she was pregnant with triplets. The teen went so far as to purchase supplies from 'fakebaby.com' to help with her con job.

The 16-year-old girl from Wyandotte, Michigan is remaining anonymous, and it's not surprising, considering how ashamed she must feel right now. The teen convinced her family, friends, boyfriend and even online pregnancy communities that she was expecting triplets. She got all the way up to a baby shower, in which she was showered with gifts. Everyone was under the impression that she was scheduled for a C-section.

The girl purchased a 'fake a baby' kit from a website, 'fakebaby.com'. The website sells everything from fake bellies to fake sonograms. The teen purchased the deluxe kit for $149.

According to the website, their novelty items are meant to be for gags, not for deception. "Like almost any item in existence, this product may be used for fun or for evil, depending solely on the intentions of the user," they warn.

But this girl was determined to pull off the big lie. And it worked. The family was helping the girl to prepare for the three babies. She received thousands of dollars in gifts. Her boyfriend was terrified, preparing to be a teen father of three.

The attention lavished upon her by her boyfriend, friends and family wasn't enough. The teen went so far as to join a pregnant mom support board online, and she posted a sonogram picture. One of the real pregnant woman pointed out something suspicious about the image: all the babies were in the same position.

The teen persisted with the lies, though, and stuck to her story all the way up until the day before she was scheduled to have a C-section. She then stunned her family when she announced that she miscarried all three babies. The teen wouldn’t explain it, and refused to go to the doctor to get checked out. That’s when any suspicions anyone had kicked into overdrive.

Someone found the gag gift sonogram online, proving the teen’s entire story was a hoax. The authorities were alerted. The next thing the girl knew, police were knocking on her door to investigate the potential fraud.

The would-be teen mother broke down and confessed. She said she had been pregnant, but miscarried at six weeks. In her despair, she decided to keep up the charade.

The teen has not commented, but her boyfriend, Jordan, is glad to be off the hook. "I was excited, don't get me wrong, but I was scared," he said.
