Despite Her Attempts To Stay Removed, Even FLOTUS Is Tiring Of White House Drama

If you turn on the average newscast to catch up on the latest political happenings and feel like you’ve mistakenly turned on an episode of the Netflix drama ‘House of Cards,’ you’re not alone. There’s enough palace intrigue going on these days to make even that show’s writers furrow their brows, and that’s saying quite a bit. It’s almost as if the dastardly ways of Frank and Claire Underwood and their respective staffs are being played out on a daily basis for a national audience.

While both sides of the aisle hold their share of responsibility for the current political climate, the common denominator remains President Donald Trump. Things have always been testy between the Left and the Right, but Trump’s entry into the political arena was handled with the subtlety of a bull browsing around a china shop. Although the general hope was that things would quiet down once he was sworn in, that hasn’t been the case at all.

It seems like every day there’s another salacious story making the rounds about something to do with the Trump administration. Part of that has to do with the media’s voracious appetite for all things Trump, but the other parts are solely the responsibility of the West Wing staff. We’re six months into the Trump presidency, and the White House still remains incapable of gaining control of the message.

As Cosmopolitan shares, the drama is wearing thin on those within the White House, as well as those that are close to the president. First Lady Melania Trump falls into that category, and word on the street is that she’s about fed up.

“In her tenure as FLOTUS, Melania Trump has reportedly been shady. She’s been miserable. She's been trapped. She’s been repeatedly repulsed by her husband’s touch. But now! Ohhhh, but now. Now she is 'borderline irritated', a White House source knowledgeable of Melania Trump's thinking told CNN,” Cosmo reports. “This irritation is not in response to this week's Donald Trump Jr. Russian emailing bombshell, the source says, but the recent reports she, Jared Kushner, and Ivanka Trump have pushed the president to consider a huge staff shake-up.”

Perhaps FLOTUS can put her foot down and convince the commander-in-chief that things need to change. It sounds like he leans on her for advice, so perhaps she’s one of the few people in the world that can actually get through to him.

“That's not to say the first lady doesn't weigh in with advice and counsel to her husband, which Melania Trump's communications director has confirmed she does with regularity,” CNN shares. “In turn, the President shares with the first lady some of the policy and strategy of his day-to-day world. For example, as recently as last week at the G20 Summit, when Melania Trump sat in on a bilateral meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.”

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, we’ll temper our optimism by remembering that Trump marches to his own drummer. That being said, perhaps the First Lady can persuade him to fix what needs to be fixed - or at least get the president to stop venting on social media.
