Fashion Director Currently Designing Life-Sized Melania Trump Statue For Factory Grounds

If you're a fan of First Lady Melania Trump, you may be happy to know that even before she moves into the White House, there are plans in the works to immortalize her likeness with a life-sized monument. The location of this first statue is not exactly where you might expect it. For one thing, it's not on American soil.

A Bosnian-Serb shoe factory is so enamored with Melania Trump that they're planning a statue of her outside of their factory in Banja Luka. The tribute is currently being designed by Bema's Marinko Umicevic, the factory's technical director.

The factory workers are huge fans of Mrs. Trump. When she got criticized for plagiarizing a speech by her predecessor, former First Lady Michelle Obama, the factory workers felt bad for her and sent her a pair of shoes as a gift. Now, they're upping the ante by having a statue of the Slovenian-born model created.

Sculptor Stevo Selak was chosen to create the statue out of gypsum. In the past, the artist sculpted statues of President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. So he seemed a natural choice for sculpting Melania. The statue will naturally feature Mrs. Trump with Bena shoes and handbag.

Umicevic is hoping that the creation of the statue will get the attention of the American First Lady, and prompt her to plan a visit to Bosnia. a spokesperson for Berna told Newsweek, “Yes, we confirm this information with pleasure. Mr. Umicevic is planning to install a statue of Lady Melania Trump in front of our factory, in order to pay tribute to Mrs. Trump.... We hope that in future we can expect positive answer and olive branch from U.S.A."

Umicevic feels the Clintons in the 1990's had a poor policy towards the Serbs. He's hoping that Melania, who speaks Serbian, will inspire a more amicable policy with the Trump administration. "We hope that America will stop being the world policeman," Umicevic told Reuters. "We are hoping a friendship will come in the future from the United States instead of bombs that Serbs got from Bill Clinton," he said.

No word from the White House, or Trump Tower, yet on whether the FLOTUS is honored by this upcoming tribute, or whether it’ll help influence her husband’s policies towards the Serbs.
