Global Warming Advocates Respond to Deniers

In the midst of the Northeast blizzard, Hercules, many GOP legislators and Donald Trump have come out stating that this is further proof there is no such thing as climate change. The U.S. has been experiencing record low temperatures.

Donald Trump tweeted, "This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING bullshit has got to stop. Our planet is freezing, record low temps, and our GW scientists are stuck in ice." Congressman John Fleming (R-LA) also tweeted, "'Global warming' isn't so warm these days. " Then, Erick Erickson of tweeted, “The difference between people who believe in the 2nd coming of Jesus and those who believe in global warming is that Jesus will return."

To add to the mix, the front page of the Drudge Report had several cold-weather news headlines such as, "Blizzard to Reach From NYC to Boston..." and "CHILL MAP..." Infamous Rush Limbaugh had his take by stating, “I would love to see Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Hillary sitting outside on the 50 yard line of Green Bay the whole game, and then afterwards do a presentation for us all on global warming. Sit there the whole game outside." Even Stuart Varney of Fox Business News had a jab to take at global warning.

Yet, global warming supporters, such as Mother Jones writer Chris Mooney, has this to say in response, "Weather is not climate, and anecdotes are not statistics. Global warming is actually expected to increase 'heavy precipitation in winter storms.' Antartica is losing ice overall...When it's winter on Earth, it's also summer on Earth."
