Michelle Obama Says She Will Not Run for President

At the South by Southwest festival, First Lady Michelle Obama had a conversation with rapper and actress Queen Latifah. There she discussed her White House prospects by saying, “I’m going to continue to work with our young people all over the world. Not as president. I will not run for president."

Obama said her daughters helped influence her decision by explaining, “I’ve got these two young people at home. And being the daughters of the president, just think of that? They’ve handled it with grace and with poise.” Obama was at Austin's annual music, film and tech festival to deliver the keynote address and promote her Let Girls Learn global education initiative. She went on to say, “And also there are so many ways to impact the world. You don’t have to be the president of the United States to do wonderful, marvelous things.”
