Olbermann Wrote What We Are All Probably Thinking About Trump-Russia Tweet

Keith Olbermann has never been one to be shy about expressing his opinions. His lengthy career has included stops at ESPN and MSNBC, and he always seems to have an interesting viewpoint on the political news of the day. Olbermann is still at it as a special correspondent for GQ magazine, and he also hosts a program known as the ‘Resistance Report.’ As you would expect, President Donald Trump is a never-ending source of material for him.

As Raw Story shares, the president took to social media to share his take on the story that has been dominating the news cycle over the past 24 hours. Reports that Trump may have shared confidential information with Russian diplomats during a meeting at the White House has raised a ton of eyebrows, and red-faced administration officials have been conducting clean-up duty ever since. Trump tried to pitch in to help out, but he didn’t have the desired effect.

“As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining....” Trump wrote in the first of a series of tweets.

“...to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism,” he continued. “I have been asking Director Comey & others, from the beginning of my administration, to find the LEAKERS in the intelligence community.....”

Somewhere along the way, Olbermann blew a gasket. He offered up a reply that wasn’t exactly of the PG variety.

“YOU are the leaker, you stupid, pea-brained, mother****ing traitor. RESIGN,” he wrote.

It’s quite clear that Olbermann falls into the camp of those that are severely riled up about these latest allegations, but he’s not doing himself any favors by resorting to name calling and expletives. He did a much better job of breaking things down during his show last night.

“Donald Trump has now eliminated his own benefit of the confusion. The Trump-Russia cover-up case is now about threatening people and firing people and pressuring people to keep them from investigating you and your colleagues,” Olbermann said. “The smoke doesn’t matter anymore. Who needs Russian smoke when the White House is on fire?”

That’s a pretty clear assessment, and also one that may resonate further than a social media post that’s chock full of insults.
