Trump’s Bashing of Muslims ‘Disqualifies Him’ For Presidency

Donald Trump’s plan to ban all Muslims from entering the United States “disqualifies him from serving as president,” according to White House press secretary Josh Earnest.

The spokesman argued that any other Republican White House hopeful who does not reject the candidate’s proposal also is unfit for the nation’s highest office. He likened Trump to a “carnival barker” with “fake hair,” according to The Hill.

The notion of imposing a religion test on immigrants is “morally reprehensible,” Earnest declared. He called on the other 12 GOP presidential contenders to “say right now that they will not support Donald Trump for president.” Those who fail to do so because they are “too fearful of the Republican base” are doomed to join the real-estate mogul in the “dustbin of history,” according to the spokesman.

Many GOP leaders, including House Speaker Paul Ryan, have denounced Trump’s proposal. However, they continue to pledge that they will back the billionaire businessman if he becomes the party’s nominee. Ryan, during a news conference on Capitol Hill, said the Muslim ban “is not conservatism” and “is not what this party stands for.” But he vowed to support whoever wins the nomination.

Earnest compared Trump with House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, the Louisiana congressman who once spoke to a white-supremacist organization. It was not the first time that someone has suggested Trump is racist, due to his incendiary remarks about Latinos and Muslims.
