Adopted Woman Learns The Truth About Her Birth And Who Rescued Her

Morgan Hill's parents told her that she was adopted when she was a baby, but didn’t tell her anything else. Although Morgan wanted to know more, they said they would tell her the story after high school graduation.

It was a sad story, as it turned out Morgan’s biological mother had hidden her pregnancy, delivered the baby at home and then tried to throw the baby away so no one would know.

Morgan found out she had been found in a dumpster, tied up in a trash bag and left to die.

“I honestly didn’t know what to think when she was telling me,” Morgan commented. “She had the binder of articles and just had me read through all of them.”

Morgan read how a construction worker named Garold (Rocky) Hyatt found her while taking a final load of trash out to the dumpster. He heard a little cry, and then he heard it again.

When Hyatt moved closer to look, he saw a white trash bag twitch. He then sprinted to a nearby hospital for help.

Three nurses came running back with him. One of the nurses opened the bag to find a healthy baby girl inside.

The nurses named her Mary Grace and the authorities caught her biological mother, who was in jail awaiting a trial, and that her biological father did not even know there was a baby until he was named in court.

When asked, Morgan spoke about what she’d say to those who saved her.

“Just, honestly, thank you," she said as tears first brimmed in her eyes and then finally streaked her cheeks. "And I couldn’t say thank you enough for basically saving my life and giving me the chance to live a wonderful, beautiful life with the family I have."

At that moment, there was a knock at the door. It was Rocky Hyatt and one of the nurses who had found her. It was a tearful reunion for all three, and a joyful catharsis for Morgan who was still trying to process the truth about her mom and her birth.
